Cannot obtain “Decrypting the Darkness” or use Prismatic Recaster
Started a new Warlock. Deleted previous one to change appearance.
Going through S15 intro cutscene on re-log, it does not take you through the intro mission. You can only pick up “Wayfinder’s Voyage” from the compass in the H.E.L.M. Going through the steps for this takes you to step 2, which is completing Shattered Realm: Forest of Echoes. After you complete this step, it skips step 3 entirely, which is where “Decrypting the Darkness” should be, and goes to step 4 where you speak with Savathun.
It is impossible to obtain “Decrypting the Darkness” from S13 or S14 questlines either. My Warlock is currently stuck without any way to focus engrams. The Recaster simply says “Sorry, there are no available items here.” I have seen others with this issue as well.

I have the quest Legacy: Challenger's Proving. I have 3 Umbral Engram's (i've used so many and wasted them because I've been trying to find a work around). I've started the Splicer questline, I've messed with the wartable. I've tried to many different things trying to figure out where the fault might be in the questlines that block you from being able to finish this quest and do the Decrypting the Darkness quest, but I haven't found anything yet. This is the last day for the weekly seasonal challenge Umbral Wayfinder I... I only need this one to finish my week one challenges. Are we going to hear anything from Bungie about this bug? It's nice a moderator posted about it and got stuff send to Bungie but not hearing a word about a major bug is very unnerving. Just come out and say you are working on it? Something guys. Make us feel like you care about your customers please. Also... are we going to be compensated if this goes past today without a fix? I know it's a small thing but finishing the seasonal challengers is kind of a big deal to have them all done... Just want the challenge updated and given to us if it's not fixed... *If anymore screenshots or anything is needed to help fix this let us know as well! Many of us will jump on board immediately to help!

4 RepliesWe are seeing many reports of issues with the Decoder where it is unlocked on one or two characters, but for another character it is locked with no apparent means to unlock it since Decrypting the Darkness appears unobtainable. We've taken a report from one player that provided extensive screenshots and have submitted it to Destiny Player Support for developer investigation. At this point I don't have any suggestions to try and fix it because it is looking more and more like it might possibly be a glitch.
