As a casual player who plays a fair amount of PVP I don't understand why people need safe spaces to play. Learning to play PVP I was never afforded the option to play in lobbies free from players above my ability. I got my ass stomped for awhile while learning but I put time in to get better and now I have no problem holding my own against better players in my lobbies. I like sometimes playing against higher skilled players because it helps me get better at the game faster. When I get killed it is usually because I did something stupid and a higher skilled player made me pay the price for it and I learn. I also like abusing players not as good as I am when they do stupid shit like run straight at me from across the map with a shotty out. Everyone needs life lessons. My opinion is that there are a lot of lazy kids in D2 who simply don't want to put the time in to get better at the game, they want training wheels for when they play PVP 3 times a week for the free rewards and they want instant gratification. If you are someone who is an average player or new player you do not need a safe space to play you simply need to spend time on your gameplay and eventually it wont matter who is in the lobby with you. The only exception to this is solo teams that have to face stacks of try hards but I find this is maybe only 5-10% of my games. I think comp is pointless now so if they are not going to make it worthwhile they should just remove it, have those players move to QP and introduce not only freelance QP for people who want to play other solo players but add more modes like clash. They should also overhaul the rewards for wins and personal performance and not just participation rewards for people who do not care at all about PVP.

Sorry im not trying to be a dick but it's reality, if anyone thinks they are going to run around a PVP map in the open with only a shotgun the entire time they need to be taught a tough lesson.

  • Its almost like someone who does that is just feeding other people ammunition to be used against them or something...

  • I think people who do that watch too many YouTube videos of guys getting we ran medals with one shot kills all game and and think that's the way they should play the game.

“I also like to abuse players not as good as me” that thought process should never be in someones head, the very thought that you feel the need to ABUSE new players or casuals is ridiculous and a cornerstone of an arrogant elitist. The thought that you played so long or are good enough has given you the right or belief that youve earned that right to ABUSE lesser players is such a jerkoff remark that i cant even begin to understand it. I am no where near the best at anything in this game, but i have been good enough to give other players advice, such as a weapon loadout and mods that works for any legend lost sector. That should he the thought process of every player here, how can i help new players or casuals get better, not how can i ABIUSE them the most. Alsoi believe you are the top 10% of the player base that hes talking about. It does no good to anyone by “stomping” new players or actual “casual” players and you are not casual in the slightest definition of the term, you are close to being in the top 5%, so dont go around spreading bs to lean the argument in your favor it makes you look like an elitist a$$hole.

  • I never said new players or casual players I said players that do dumb shit, there is a difference. Just because someone is new or casual does not mean they automatically play dumb or suck at the game. I play against people who have played a lot of PVP that do dumb shit all game. I have also played against newer players that are really good at PVP. If you are going to do dumb shit against me I'm going to punish you when I can. Just like when I do dumb shit I expect to be punished by players that are better than I am. I'm not going to play any harder or easier just because my opponents skill level is different than mine I'm going to play to win and I expect the same from the people I play against. This concept of losing to better players seems to be something bad kids have a hard time dealing with these days.

  • Trust me im pretty casual. I don't use meta weapons and I play solo 100%. I just put the time in to get better at the game instead of complaining about how unfair everything is. Being a top 10% player in D2 PVP is not very hard.

  • If you can slay out and stay in the top 7% in the sweatastic quickplay olympics with off-meta weapons than that makes you even less of a casual. No offence, Take that as a complement.

  • I guess I get my ass kicked enough to know that I'm pretty average at PVP. I will take it as a compliment though =)

  • Look, im saying the mindset of players saying they have no problem stomping or abusing new players or casual’s isnt good for the new players the casuals or even the top 1%, it sets a bad example for the individual players and the community as a whole, its no wonder we are seen universally as a toxic community. The top 10,5,1% should be proud and showoff that they are the very best of the best in this game, but not by abusing or stomping these “blueberries” “noobs” or whatever you wanna call em , but by helping and showing them what not to do, or a different loadout, or just a different character subset altogether, people who have been there since the beginning or the top players should see themselves as “parents” or “commanders” to nurture or show lesser players the strategies that work and dont work. Kinda like my disdain for shotty apes, i ised be aggressive towards them, until another better player gave me tips on how to entice them out of their comfort zones. The game becomes better with better players no matter who you are. We should be messaging or communicating with those players like “hey if you do this, or swap this or change this altogether” you woudnt be dying 24/7. By what i said earlier was wrong as well i shouldnt singling out this player for that one sentence bc there are alot of players out there with a worse mindset and they arent helping at all, so that being said im sorry for singling you out, it should have been more of a “players that have this mindset” isnt healthy for the community.
