Hi, i've been reading about the naming system coming in effect next season and i am having some questions regarding the whole "names that violate our code of conduct will be changed". Bungie's code of conduct is not specific at all and reads the same as many other companies, the non-specificity of it means that it can be used (and is very often used) to censor LGBT slang, to give the simplest example, many online games filter out the word lesbian, and words like femboy, queer, and even "gay" and "trans" end up censored in many games. This doesn't even get into the large amount of words related to identities that have "sexual" in the word, will "asexual" count as a dirty word?
Bungie speaks a fair lot about being inclusive of queer (and specifically trans) people, it would be disappointing and quite hypocritical if you followed other companies and censored the words we use to identify ourselves. At the very least, Bungie should provide an specific list of the words in their language filter that relate to queerness and sexuality (and yes, this includes words banned for being considered "implicitly sexual").

So most companies while they do support lgbtq+ organizations. Language is still something they must remain neutral on. Mainly due to the fact that people use those terms as derogatory and not related to their actual definition. They remain censored because Bungie doesn’t want to be targeted as swinging one way other the other for most likely legal reasons…
