I love crucible, when there is a balanced match where each person in the match is of an even skill level.
When i get thrown into games with a full enemy team of top 1% trials players, its not even remotely balanced or fun.
I would rather be playing american players with 200+ ping than have to deal with the bullshit oceanic matchmaking that we get thrown into.
I saw maybe 1 or 2 hackers during SBMM, as soon as it went to CBMM hacking went through the roof. Multiple times a day i braytech/DTReport people just to see they have 100% accuracy in multiple concurrent games, with absolutely garbage stats in previous seasons. Did they get a new gaming chair to help them go from 0.6KD to 3+KD in a single season? NO.
Theres an oceanic clan of trials/comp players that you see stacking crucible on the odd occasion, every single game you are lucky if your team even lands a single kill on them because they all just steamroll you so hard you dont even get a chance to spawn. (Still incredibly sus of their whole clan, suspected them cheating for years, multiple trials games they play with people that have 100% accuracy, Some of them have brand new accounts every couple of seasons, so most likely banned on their main accounts)
The crucible is in the worse state i have ever seen it.
Enough with the CBMM bullshit.
Bring back SBMM, ill take laggy guardians over blatant hackers.

1 ReplySBMM is terrible and has been proven that time and time again. Just don’t suck
-
8 RepliesLaggy players over hacking ones? Bruh you are literally moving from one problem to the next. The solution is to ban every single cheater in destiny, better yet, bungie needs to track their IP or whatever and ban those players from ever playing destiny again. Thats the real solution to fixing the hacker problem

The aim botting is an issue and those gadgets like Collective Minds Cronus Zen goes without saying.

2 RepliesBungie doesn't care. I've uninstalled. It sucks that there are no other PVP games like Destiny 2 but trying to play a deeply flawed game is more aggravating than just moving on.. I think the most important thing to do is to not give them any more money untill they fix the issues. Unless you think the minimal conent you get from season passes are worth it. I don't. I've stopped playing.. I'm still going to complain though because I want the problems fixed.

Agree %100. SBMM makes it much better. Even if it’s just “tiers” of skill, like a loosely based SBMM, so that the top elite don’t get stuck facing each other only on bad connections. But when there was SBMM, I played crucible daily. A lot. But now, because I’m not a skilled player, I avoid it at all costs. It’s just not fun getting a .25 kd and knowing your team lost because of you. Again. It’s discouraging and embarrassing, and who wants that from a video game? So yea, I just don’t play, because I’m not going to get better. I’m older, bad eyes and slower reflexes. But give me a somewhat similar skill lobby, I’ll be back in there all the time.

15 RepliesIt’s a sad state of affairs overall. I remember a time in the crucible where we used to run it for fun. Post match kd/a’s were relatively even across the board save for your occasional few high kill outliers. When folks wanted to get sweaty, we had COMPETITIVE and the exceptional rewards that came with grinding it. I remember a time where the best players I knew would dog us out for playing Quickplay. For them, it was Comp, Rumble or bust. QP was for casuals and noobs, and that was okay because everyone had an avenue in which they were able to compete and grow and have fun. I remember a time when bad stats meant somebody needed help, they weren’t used to try to invalidate somebody’s issues with the game. We saw somebody who was struggling and offered to help through scrims or team games. Those days are long gone. The sweaties cried hard during SBMM. They finally had the competition in casual modes that they had complained was lacking from them for so long. “This isn’t fun anymore, OMG why are they trying so hard, OMG why are they spamming Luna’s/Shotty, OMG how does he have his super so often,” etc etc etc. But now that those days have passed, they’ve forgotten about it. Not because it isn’t still happening, but because it’s no longer happening to them. I find it sad how many of you attempt to lord over others with stats as though their poor performance somehow invalidates their feelings towards the state of the Crucible. Like I said, I remember a time where people sought to help each other improve and collectively boost everyone’s enjoyment of the game. This community has gone from a healthy supportive place that we were all able to enjoy to something resembling a dying dog with super AIDS and atomic asshole cancer who just got smashed in half by a bus, and all anyone has to say about it is “DURR, shoulda GOT GUUUD, LOLZORZ.” Sad.

1 ReplyMy impression is that this opinion, at least broadly, is shared by a large proportion of the community (if we can call it that). I should say that I have no idea about the hacking/cheating/etc. because I just assume when I'm getting my a** handed to me that the other players are just way better. All I know is that almost all matches I'm in -- often including the Survival matches! -- are crazily imbalanced. The two most confusing aspects of this situation, from my perspective, are a) why Bungie could possibly think it would make sense to put decent but still average players like myself into matches we have no chance of winning (if it were a basketball team, I'd be sitting on the bench and would only get court time if the game were already a blowout); and b) why there are so many members of the community here who react so aggressively and unpleasantly when anyone observes that changes are needed. Unfortunately, people have been raising these issue for a long time, and as far as I can tell, no serious attention has been given to addressing it.

Play the game, not the pame
-
bruh the new matchmaking they put in when solo queuing is eqyivalent to sbmm
-
Sadly I feal like all that's left in crucible is the die hard top 1% players. With sbmm and lfg being nothing but 6 stack 1.5+ kd. Also stasis being overturned alot of the casual or people that wanted to have fun have left.
-
I don't know anything about online gaming other than I like to to play them...but couldn't they just use 2 categories when matchmaking? Prioritize skill based followed by connection based (must fall within a certain threshold window?).
-
Easily the worst matchmaking ever. If matches are mostly ending to mercy or blowout the it's really not playable.
-
Always stomping isn't fun and always getting stomped isn't fun point blank
-
You don’t say. May man this has been the case for years now.
-
We'll said ..bring back sbmm.

5 RepliesI don't think 1M PvP players in Destiny have a good enough skill distribution for sbmm. The reason is BS reward and game engine. My kids used to love D2 pvp but the reward system and unbalanced weapons (remember the pinnacle HC plague?) were enough to drive them out. Also, investment in this game has zero returns. They moved to apex and ended up in top 500 in UK by fair competition and won something real. There is zero incentive to improve in this game as I have had friends who went flawless every week several times but got bored due to the bad matchmaking. Even the serious players match against low calibre players and get bored of stomping them. The problem is that Bungie has made pvp a joke and forced people away for so long that there is no one left to implement CBMM or SBMM on.

10 RepliesGood post. man. And thanks for trying to hold Bungie accountable. Here's a copy of a post that shares many of your points of view: People usually leave matches when they can't kill anyone-- but are less prone to do so when your team is winning-- which is why Bungie will matchmake to bring you closer to a 50/50 win/loss ratio. Bungie DESPERTLY needs casuals to play crucible, so their “preferred” customers can bully and wont have a “sweaty” competition. Many players are discouraged from trying a new weapon, learning maps, etc., because they are already matched against superior opponents, commonly equipped with trials weapons. In Survival’s supposed “sbmm”, teams are repeatedly wiped, mostly by skilled players. In addition, lagging or shooting through walls is common. As long as Bungie wants non-regional pairing and employs a mostly peer-to-peer networking system, there is probably little they can do about this. Their unique networking system is complex, and their blend of Lobby-Balancing and cbmm does not solve the associated problems. Elimination has SBMM, however, I’m commonly matched against players who are far above my level. Also, less-skilled players don’t have many opportunities to revive you, so if you play aggressively enough to get better, you spend half the time dead. This is not the case in Control, Clash and Rumble. Bungie once had separate CBMM and SBMM modes. Why did they quickly get rid of it? BECAUSE THERE WEREN’T CASUAL PLAYERS TO BULLY IN CBMM, so the number of daily matches dropped. Clearly, the average skill players are the fodder used to fuel this crucible scam. It’s also why Bungie bribes people, who don’t want to play crucible, by making it a part of quests for better gear. In Iron Banner, Bungie OUTRIGHT LIES, luring players with a false claim of sbmm in Freelance. Matches are routinely ended by the mercy rule. The matchmaking algorithm usually composes a game of four members roughly representing each third of the skill level. When this happens, who do you think the bottom-third will have most of their engagements with? That’s right-- the two most skilled members on the other team. In a recent match, the top player had a 31 KD. Yes-- 31.0. Mine was 0.67. The actions of the bottom 2-3 players are generally inconsequential. After being subject to this repeatedly, do you honestly expect these players to care about the outcome of a match? Most say that variety and new players in the crucible is at an all-time low. The number of matches remains high because the same people play repeatedly. This disguises the problem, as this number is misleading. I routinely read posts of average players matched against someone who has gone flawless hundreds of times. I will note, however, that there SHOULD BE A MODE OF CONTROL for those who want cbmm, but make it real CBMM— not the lobby-balancing blend we have now. Also, “Trials” is not marketed as sbmm-- but perhaps a system that separates “Flawless” players from others is in order. ON THE AVERAGE, WE SHOULD BE MATCHED WITH PLAYERS OF SIMILAR SKILL. The bottom line is that Bungie will SELL OUT casuals. This causes a lack of new players to replace those who leave. This is killing a game that has the potential to be highly profitable for years to come. As for the cbmm guys who like the current state of matchmaking-- it's all good, man. My problem is with Bungie-- not you. (Actually, I respect your skillz!)

1 ReplyControllers aa is the problem

1 ReplyA certain %age of players are using "devices" to give them an unfair advantage. When I posted about it I got threatened with a ban.
-
If you are on PC, just play on console, it still ins’t fun, but it has no hackers
-
9 RepliesYou know Crucible is bad when Gambit starts to look decent in comparison.
-
7 RepliesOr alternatively, use your brain and ask for a hybrid of the two systems to combat latency as well as skill disparity.
-
It's bad, it's very bad. Crucible should have social and ranked playlists as Halo does. Social for bounties and goofing around, ranked for the urge of playing against people close to your skill level. There shouldn't be any 50/50 win/loss ratio crap in any of them, that's artificial, it doesn't help anybody, everybody loses their time and their sanity. Good matchmaking and fair lobby balancing is what this game lacks. They need to invest some real money in upgrading their server infrastructure and hiring the right professionals to manage playlists, maps and player feedback. They've been saying the same thing since 2018 about renewing focus on PVP and all they've done is taking out maps and making things worse with stasis, unlimited special ammo, tracking weapons and ability spam. Respawn points, mercy rules, rewards... It's all over the place. Crucible needs a complete revamp to get to an optimal level of quality.

38 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Araphel: 7/19/2021 10:17:57 PMOnly guns are balanced the servers are crap and still laggy cbmm did not change that it just allowed for sweats to crap on average players and casuals and they still complain. Zero respect for anyone in the top eschelon because all of them are fake and would rather fight weak players than themselves. They say they hate sweating all the time but thats what they do they are still sweating even now. I make it my mission to bag and embarrass any streamer I see and Always target the sweats. Start isolating them and they will see how powerlessness feels.
-
Current pvp mode is for sweats who main special weapons This game needs a mode like halo, like splitgate TDM. A mode that’s not dominated by god rolls, and special weapons It will never happen. Which is why destiny is beyond dead, sadly

Edited by Double07: 7/20/2021 4:51:14 PMThat’s why I avoid Trials. It’s a hurt locker where someone going for 3 wins can get crushed by x8 flawless players non-stop.
