I’m a big fan of snipers having curated scopes. I can’t imagine a frozen orbit or a occuled finality with a handling roll and an ambush scope, it would be ridiculous. I like how the higher the impact / forgiveness of a sniper, the more zoom it has. I personally hate using high zoom snipers, frozen orbit has the most zoom that I would ever use.
Another thing, let’s avoid tanking the special economy. As special weapons have been toned down more and more, I find them to be less of an issue. I don’t want to see a repeat of D1 Y3 or D2 Y1. For the problem weapons, fusions shouldn’t kill from more than around 15-17m, slugs shouldn’t kill from more than 10m, and GLs need to be looked at. An explosive never will be a skill shot. I personally think that all special GLs should be buffed and moved into the heavy slot however, I’m not sure how good of an idea that actually is. Since bungie devs have stated that they want GLs to be a high risk high reward, let’s nerf the ready and stow speeds so it isn’t so easy to clean up. Nerf proximity grenades against guardians and generally tone down the blast radius. Another thing about fusions that makes them SO much stronger in D2 than they were in D1. MAKE THEM PROJECTILE AGAIN! Hitscan fusions play like heavy weapons and are insanely easy to use. The “charge time” is faster than many primary TTKs, which makes it a little irrelevant when trying to justify the spot that they are in. The primary meta is good right now, TLW could use some AA nerfs.
Some weapons that I generally have gripes with:
Bastion:
For god’s sake tone down the damage here, it should not OHK supers.
Chaperone: WAYY too much aimbot, it could be cool if it was harder to use.
Bows: They can be swapped out too quickly, it makes a cool weapon really broken when paired with a 120 or EV.
Wardcliff:
Is a free team wipe
Heir apparent:
We all know about this one
Another thing:
We really need some maps. GOOD maps, itching like fragment PLEASE. Asylum would be awesome if it was made to have long range as it did in D1.
Edit: Some of you guys seem to have a huge issue with my opinion on bows so, two things. One I dedicated about one sentence in this entire post to bows since the issue isn’t really that big. Two, bows are easy to use on controller at least. You can MISS and get a headshot. They aren’t really skill weapons because of AA. I have an issue with bows for the same reason that I have an issue with chaperone. Hitting that headshot is very easy with those weapons.

1 ReplyFelwinters lie main giving his state of the meta opinion. Where is your post from pre felwinters lie nerf shit talking aggressive frame shotties?

Another thing, let’s avoid tanking the special economy. As special weapons have been toned down more and more, I find them to be less of an issue..
Okay but your felwinters lie has 26,000 crucible kills…

1 ReplyI just want better matchmaking, I like CBMM but jesus christ the team balance is shit

Yo. Your bow opinion is ...well your opinion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I feel 100% the same. Don’t let the pve dad losers tell you otherwise

4 RepliesThe fact you don’t want special ammo economy nerfed and you for some weird reason have a problem with bows, anything you mentioned is irrelevant and its clear you have no idea how to balance the game. Everyone with common sense knows for a fact the issue with special ammo is the scavenger mod itself. The strength of those other meta weapons is mostly fine if bungie can just manage how often they can be used. Nerfing everything thats good is never a solution to everything unless it makes complete sense. Its a video game at the end of the day, power fantasy needs to be a thing or else no one would want to play the game. You guys find bastion annoying? Chaperone? Your solution is nerfing them? Why? So the next batch of special weapons become meta? It wont stop unless you nerf its core and thats the scavenger mods. The harder it is to use special ammo in games, the more players would feel inclined to use other weapons.

2 RepliesThe only ammo problem of D1 Y3 was the ammo regenning exotics and sidearms. I'd look forward to the same situation in D2.

9 RepliesIDK landing shots with Chaparone is really difficult, especially crits. Being a slug shotty makes it way higher skill to get crits. Aztecross stated this in his review of the Chaparone in his video. I concur.

1 ReplyI think you’re looking at things subjectively. Then again that’s how most Destiny players look at things lol

TLDR: shotgun ape doesn't like counters to felwinters lie, go figure.

some games i have fun most games i dont i match against cheaters or players so good they might as well be cheating

1 ReplyEdited by l Xemnas: 7/18/2021 6:02:08 PMWhat I want to know is how a dawnblade survived a shot to the head and kept walking. I still have the recording. Shot him in the head with eye of sound and he just kept going. This happened twice in that match. Edit: Heir isn't the problem. People refusing to use an arc weapon is. Plug one, found verdict, and ikelos have no problem dealing with it, but people refuse to drop their felwinters and igneous or shayuras.

Lol play your cards right and Heir apparent is a team wipe of supers 😂 it does need tuning
-
2 RepliesBows? Homie....with a handcannon pairing it's strong against people out in the open, but against anyone remotely good at aggressive play....nah that's a glaring weakness. I use bows. I do not like to pair it with a hc.

2 RepliesMans got the feltwinters on crying about chappyboi smh 😂

Oh yess gimme the Infinite range saladins vigil back i love mapping kids at 40m. Now THAT took skill.

4 RepliesI would say GLs and chaperone are definitely the biggest problem weapons right now. Least skill highest reward and most oppressive weapons in the sandbox. Ive always found things like last word (controller), crimson (controller), bastion, arbalest, wardcliff coil, heir apparent, peacekeepers with an SMG, and bows pretty annoying but not worth the fight because people very rarely use them. Top dawn and chaos reach are still the beat two subclasses in the game with no competition at all. Tuning for them is long overdue, they are a glaring issue with the subclass meta right now.
-
Bows? I didn't even know people used bows in PvP.
-
1 ReplyChaperone has a range of 13 meter and 15+ with roadborne active? Dude its like using a sniper. I dont say the range should be minus that 7, slugs should have 10 meters max range (11 with roadborn and opening shot).

Oh my god - actual feedback

3 Replies...bows? We serious? They're good when paired with a select few weapons and a very specific, niche playable is used really well. That's it. Why are we trying to snuff out anything that breaks from the mold here? Sure, maybe with GLs you could argue the grenade needs to be closer to target to get full blast radius damage, that is it. Any change that takes away one of the few different playstyles in this game is a bad change. You're actively campaigning for less variety here and I don't get it.

4 RepliesBows tho bro??

7 RepliesSnipers... I think I might finally be able to start using them in PvP more often starting next season. I don't think the special ammo economy necessarily needs to be "tanked" and part of the reason is that all people will do is call the game Y1D1 until a cloud appears over it. But there is somewhat of a problem with their instant gratification nature and how that plays out, honestly through the rest of the game. I don't think (but I could be wrong) that the best thing for newer players to be focusing on is charging in to get a kill before they die and trying to always be emulating the "movement shooter" playstyle. It just has too much potential to build into too many mess moments. The easy cleanup on GL's probably needs to be looked into. Like you said its an explosive, and they are one of those things that sometimes just "happen" to bounce in precisely the right way they need to to hit someone. Fusions have the potential of really shooting up in overall usage and then being defended by the kind of people who do and will get listened to. So that's an area where I hope they are careful with whatever they do with them. TLW- probably my most feared primary and I run sidearms. Sometimes I question whether the person with the last word really had to put in the effort that they should have. Bastion: Is Bastion good or is it bad? Sometimes it doesn't do much damage when I'm right in front of someone, sometimes it clears the entire stage and kills me. Chaperone: WAYY too much aimbot. Bows can have the same cleanup ease as GLs but they are hitscan and mess with your sense of timing in a weird way. So part of their power (problem?) lies in the fact that the person shooting them doesn't always look like they are doing what they are doing. Wardcliff is for whatever reason an IP defining Heavy weapon to me. Heir apparent... yeah.

Edited by Shatterday: 7/17/2021 8:39:10 PMI don't have to imagine max handling on Finality. I have max handling. It's ridiculous. Bastion has to much range. I don't mind the damage. TLW will always dominate, it's dominated crucible for 6 years. PC came around and got it buffed. Thanks goof balls. Wardcliff is and always will* be the easiest weapon to kill with. Heir apparent is dumb but honestly it is the only real use of the weapon. Reminds me of Supers during TTK, your initial reaction is to run and yell for help. Edit - forgot you brought up bows. I agree they are cheap. This coming from someone who abused TLW + bow during Arrivals. Also agree with chappy. Also wanna just go ahead and thank PC for all the buffs they gave me and my play style. Especially TLW y'all got buffed. I highly appreciated that.
