Hello one and all and welcome to the next stage in my scorn obsession
Instead of looking to the future we'll be gazing at the past and recollecting all the achievements the scorn Barons have done and a brief explanation of each one when possible
disclaimer: most of these have next to zero information surrounding them and as such "No other information" will be used extensively
Slaughter at Gaspra: involved Hiraks the mindbender. No other information given
the Haunting of Nemesis: also involved Hiraks. No other information given
the Butcher of Bamberga: a title given to araskes the trickster, obviously implying a butchering taking place at Bamberga, one of the largest astroids in the astroid belt, fun fact. No other information given
the slaying of the Psyche Hordes: again involving Araskes the trickster, however with even less information to go off of. Your guess is as good as mine
The Terminus of the Gray Legion: yet AGAIN involving Araskes the trickster, but at least we have a little more to go off of. Legions are usually referenced when talking about Cabal, terminus being used as "end of" in this context. It's a bit of a stretch to assume one Scorn Baroness could end an entire unknown legion of cabal but hey, I won't complain
Old Bassa: yup, it's the Trickster again. This is more of a nickname for her however "thief of old Bassa". Unless Araskes stole from a small area in Nigeria... I have no clue what this could be referring to
Valian's Reprieve: last of the tricksters achievements. No other information y
The culling of house Wolves: commited by the Hangman himself, Reksis Vahn stalked the sands of Mars and successfully killed off every last house wolf servitor on the planet, effectively EXTERMINATING the house in its entirety. The only survivors either long since abandoning the banners prior to the wolf rebellion, or joined house dusk
Hellrise Canyon: the Ghost of Hellrise Canyon is a title given to the Rifleman, for what reason still remains unknown however it's safe to assume some sort of note worthy event happened there to make it so noteworthy. No other information given
the assassination of the Queen's palace guard: while not confirmed, this feat was believed to be accomplished by the Rifleman during the wolf rebellion. Implying he was a former wolf perhaps
The Ragged Valley Sprint: hardly an actual achievement, the Rider just raced through a particularly dangerous valley. Nothing crazy
Dead River run: a MASSACRE performed by Yavicks the Rider, with a kill count of 486 awoken and 83 fallen. Holy shit
the Siege of Arran: performed by Elykris the Machinist. Unless refering to the island in Scotland, we have no information on where exactly Arran is. At least not to my knowledge
Solis Descent: an unknown location, of which Elykris just so happened to be a "scourge" at. No other information given
The house kings massacre: the slaughter performed by Fikrul and Uldren where house kings was brutally killed off, later used as a fresh supply of bodies to be turned into Scorn. As such the majority of scorn we fight in Forsaken hailed from house kings
The killing of Cayde six: literally the plot of Forsaken
The awoken culling: a massacre performed by Uldren and the Barons after escaping the prison of elders
And without a doubt, their most important achievement would be...
not dying off in their introductory DLC, an accomplishment not even Oryx and Crota could claim
2 RepliesQuick question, which scorn barons are still alive/capable of being resurrected by fikrul?

Dead River run: a MASSACRE performed by Yavicks the Rider, with a kill count of 486 awoken and 83 fallen. Holy shit
Probably the only memorable achievement of the Rider besides her boss fight.

2 RepliesIf Bungie wasn’t so bad at putting the flavor of the lore into the action of the game, maybe I’d give half a crap about these beige rage monsters, but I don’t. Yes they have interesting backstories and “character” (not that you’d know it in game), and yes they have done incredible things (albeit vague and mostly in the lore), but in reality? Each Baron went down like a punk, killed by a single guardian when I felt like it, and then we end up fighting Taken in the story mission climax AND the raid. So who cares. Obviously not Bungie. They are literally Darkness infused zombie Fallen, which you’d think would be a Big Deal, and Bungie just tosses them in the game and then ignored them just as quickly. I don’t like them, I don’t sympathize with them and I have NO problem killing them whenever (or IF ever) they show up. Which I hope is “not a lot”.

and then losing to 1 spooky boi.

1 ReplyEdited by pcln3806: 7/15/2021 1:52:44 PMI would guess the psyche hoards incident was something involving a slaughter of psions, since the trickster was involved with another massacre of cabal. Especially since the only thing that comes to mind with “psyche” is psychic powers, which only psions have to my knowledge. This essentially characterizes the trickster as hating the cabal, which kinda sorta makes sense since they are most organized living race which would make them pretty susceptible to being heavily damaged from being tricked, IMO As for the machinists in my eyes it would sort of make sense if she was messing around in Ireland when she was alive, since I always saw her as being a part of the devils, and they pretty much exclusively chill on earth

1 ReplyBut you know what the Scorn haven't done?
Manage to be hard enemies.
1 ReplyDamn... everybody gangsta until Yaviks shows up to minus the population 3 digits. And she's the smallest, and first Baroness we slayed.

2 RepliesWhen were the scorn created? Like how did they find time to do this in like 10 minutes of existing?

2 RepliesMindbender is the easy favorite!
ALL SHALL BE TAKEN BY THE HIVE
4 RepliesScorn Dungeon when 😳

1 ReplyThe scorn are easily the coolest and most freaky enemy that D2 has!
-
"Hello, dead thing. Come to slaughter my children? Me, perhaps? You die instead."
-
10 RepliesStill pissed about House Kings getting wasted like that.
-
1 ReplyIt's a shame these guys never got a chance to shine. Can't believe they replaced these guys with the Taken in the same DLC they were introduced in.
-
2 RepliesScorn need more love in game. A lot of people dislike them but I think they need to get a bit more respect. They didn't even get a raid in the dlc they were introduced in, and don't get me wrong, I love last wish, but to have an entire enemy type just left in the dust like that feels wrong. Imagine if they did that with the taken back in ttk.

13 RepliesThanks for coming to reopen old wounds 😢

1 ReplyWell, either every one else who read this said “that’s neat” and continued scrolling or I’m the first to read this in its entirety.
