It wasn't grindy like 2019. Far from it.
You pushed people into activities they normally avoid, we got about 30 people their first raid completion this week which REALLY made them want to raid more, and are now a permanent part of our discord community and will raid with them in the future.
PVP was a joke, with momentum control ANYONE can get this part done in 1-2 matches.
Master nightfall? Not a problem this late in the season unless you are brand new, but theres always people willing to carry.
Well done Bungie. You finally got something right with one of these events.
Really enjoyable 9/10 (9 because im too lazy to do it over multiple characters)
:)

I agree. It was well done.

Especially loved the progression increase per armor set. Made the all three character grind easy, didn't make me want to take a bath in the Mariana trench.

Edited by Fate: 7/16/2021 1:36:22 AMPersonally I think this years armor is ugly Not a fan of the style So hard passed it
-
Will the glowing armor set from this event be able to be made into ornaments or do I have to purchase the eververse ones for the glow?
-
they still have to remove key fragments drops from eaz
-
3 RepliesI'm still passing on it, I don't want to play pvp for any reason even if it means missing out on stuff

1 ReplyEdited by Night_Fury147: 7/15/2021 12:25:31 AMThe only problem with Solstice this year is the Solstice Packages. The packages are the only way to earn different rolls on the Solstice armor and the armor BARELY drops from them. When armor does finally drop, it has -blam!-ing terrible stat rolls/combos. For example, I was farming Eva’s bounties and activities that give key fragments for about 6-7 hours today. When I then used all my keys, all I got was blue gear and only TWO drops of Solstice armor (with -blam!-ing terrible rolls).

2 RepliesWell it wasn't grindy. I got the third set of armour, looked at the objectives and thought "stuff that". I didn't get pushed into a raid or a dungeon or master nightfall. So sure, if you thought the objectives were good, then I'm happy for you. Meanwhile a lot of players probably haven't touched them, due to requirements to group up in a game without in-game matchmaking for most of the objectives.
-
2 RepliesI was immediately turned off with this event. Get my first solstice packages and it's all blue loot. What a waste of my time. I can get that same garbage from anything in Destiny 2. I'm out of the solstice.
-
Got the armour Went to Tess. Bingo I look like a Christmas tree.
-
I remember the first year was an extreme grind. Now it's a cakewalk in comparison. Not that I'm complaining.
-
4 RepliesNext year: 'Buy 2000 Silver'.
-
Well, certainly not *AS* grindy as it was last year, that's for sure. And making it faster for each subsequent character was welcomed as well.
-
1 ReplyI'm currently titan complete other 2 on purple will do it at the end of the week
-
It was very good this year. I had actually missed running many of the activities needed to complete the armor so had fun playing through everything. Not too grind, pretty cool looking armor and ghost as well.
-
1 ReplyIt felt cheap af this time...☹️ Bring back the OG grind 👍
-
2 RepliesThe armor accelerator buffs were awesome, along with the changes to the EAZ that make it way less painful to play this time. Also, having unlocking the glow on one armor piece unlock the same piece on ALL characters is amazing. WAY less grind. 👍

All I have left is the raid complete which I just haven’t had the patient’s to deal with randoms yet, probably do it tonight. I think doing master vog will be better at least there most people know what there doing.
-
2 RepliesI find it funny how people are complaining about the 30 crucible kills, I’m average at best and got it done in 2 or 3 games. Literally just grab whatever gun everyone is using and do your best.
-
Compared to other years these objectives are a complete joke tbh. I probably could’ve gotten everything done by Wednesday of last week if it wasn’t because of server issues on Tuesday.
-
8 RepliesOne of the many reasons I quit Destiny. I hate being promised by Bungie that I can “play my way” yet get bottle necked into PvP that goes against “play your way” promise.
-
4 RepliesBungie still didn't push me on doing raids. I never had fun doing LFG raids because people keep yelling at each others thorats, yell at me when I did something I wasn't supposed to do, make fun of me if I did something wrong, people don't make jokes or make laugh at times and yet I know Raids are meant to be taken seriously at times but it would nice if I have some laughs here and there, and I was forced to use LFGs because nobody wanted to play with me. I would like to finish a raid from start to finnish but it's never going to happen using an LFG. I really want to try the Vault of Glass Raid but I don't want play with people on the LFG because they are not fun and I get bored playing with them. I just wish I could actually have fun doing a raid for once.

Rather than require completions for activities not all players even engage with, I'd have appreciated the basic glows for completion of simpler, solo friendly challenges, and unique or enhanced glows for endgame challenge completions. Something like crackling Arc Lightning, small gouts of Solar Flames, and swirling Void clouds. Let everyone earn their glows, but give the people who actually go beyond a reason to do so, and a way to show their dedication.
-
This is good to hear. I’ve been out of town for the event so far I’ll be coming back a bit late. I’m excited to grind my armor. By the looks of it titans finally got something worth grinding
-
3 RepliesEdited by elevated_alien47: 7/14/2021 8:18:43 AMI honestly liked 2019’s grind better. Where you actually earned the armor and got a cool sparrow that not that many people have. Also I like having all 3 glows on at the same time now I can’t do that either with the ornaments.
-
The made it way easier to do on multiple this year. I had all the sets done the first 2 days. Years prior it would take weeks to finish
