Shotguns range should have never been touched

I've not played since the change, it was never the shotguns or the users or quickdraw it was the ammo economy and always has been, simple scavengers should not work in PvP 1 green brick 1 ammo simple. Round based PvP, ammo shouldn't stack from previous round you start with 2 every round. Why kill an entire weapon type, fusions and gls will become more annoying as more players use them from greater ranges. It was never the weapons but always the ammo economy. Thought.....edit... What if scavengers didn't exist in PvP, what if you could only hold 2 shots of special at most ever... What if you get a kill with special you get a shot back in your reserves automatically that you have to reload if you miss you lose that shot, a can only hold 1 shot and so on until you die and when you do die you respawn with 2 shots.

  • It was absolutely both. There's a reason usage rate for shotguns was roughly double that of all other special weapons combined. Sure, shotguns will always be the OHK weapon of choice, but that kind of discrepancy points to a serious lack of balance between archetypes.

    • It is both. You're right about the ammo economy though. It is ridiculous. There are 3 things that would make it much less intolerable, but for some reason Bungie won't do it. 1. Turn off scavenger mods in crucible. It is absolutely ridiculous that this ever worked in crucible. 2. Turn juggler on in crucible. Get a kill with a special weapon, it shouldn't make more special ammo. It should require a kill with a primary equipped to get more special. 3. Special ammo should not be shared. The fact that I can sit back and watch 2 of my teammates trade with 2 of the other team's players then go pick up all their ammo is broken. Only players I kill should make ammo for me.

      • Nah it was the weapons , if you are still dying constantly to shotguns(buck shot) in a 1v1 make better decisions, be better positioned and hit your shots . The number of one shot kills have dropped dramatically

        • It was definitely the weapons…felwinters has more range then almost every other shotgun(maybe all, not sure where chaperone sits at now) and because of shot package it’s ability to kill from extreme ranges was just too much
