Do NOT masterwork the armor until you are done upgrading
Seriously guys. I’ve seen a dozen posts already with characters who have participated in at least one or more past solstice. You know that upgrading the armor gives you an entire new set. Do not waste your materials until the armor is fully upgraded and save your materials for when it’s really needed. Stop acting like you don’t know this is the case when you’ve participated in solstice before.
As for newer players, wait. Seriously, do not waste your mats just to have extra stats on the blue or first purple armor. Wait until your armor objectives for the base colors are done and then you can max out your set. Or better yet just wait until the event is over and you’ve redeemed all your boxes for possible better rolls

Or better yet, don't upgrade the armour until you do all three characters, and unlock the chance for high stat roll solstice armour to drop from the boxes.

My post master has 2 stacks of prisms, I have max upgrade materials, I can't collect packages from shaxx, my entire collection of exotic armour is masterworked,I have to burn materials in order to clear inventory, but thanks for the hot tip 😉

I use Solstice to get alts levelled up. Complete waste of time on your main.

I wouldn’t even bother upgrading them last shards/glimmer until I can re roll the armor once it’s all complete. Bungie really screwed up giving us crappy stats on the solstice armor.

4 Repliesactually the whole event not worth it and for people who still farming the armor in the final step it will ask you to do Raid so if you can't do Raids like many people don't bother yourself farming the armor

4 RepliesQuestion: I am relatively new, been playing seriously for a year and a half or so, but did not do last year’s solstice event. I upgraded my renewed armor to majestic. Is it worth it to upgrade to Magnificent? I was kind of discouraged when after 4 hours spent upgrading to majestic, to find that all the armor had sub-60 stat rolls. I do see that it’s possible to get higher stat rolls, but it seems to have a small chance of being a high stat roll from a small chance of getting the armor from a box. And if I get it to magnificent, does that make it glow? And can I use that for transmog? Thanks

3 RepliesAlso another tip. Completing 1 character doubles the progress for character 2 and i think quadruples it for your 3rd. And getting all 3 upgraded purple sets gives you a chance to get high stat rolled armor from packages.

This isn't so much an issue to me as the fact that they reset my armor level back to 1100 after claiming the magnificent armor....no way in hell I'm playing this game anymore until they address this and fix it.

9 RepliesI was light level 1307, went to meditate after I completed all objectives and it gave me a full set of 1100 legendary gear and completely reset my light level. I figured the gear it gave me would be higher than the blues i had when doing the objectives. Any ideas on what i should do?

I could care less about the materials for the upgrades because my postmasters are all full with max capacity… use them now because i saved them for nothing if they just sit there… Just let people do what they want if they want to, it doesn’t hurt you in any way….

10 RepliesSolstice armour is ass! Not even going to bother with it let alone spend any resources on it. Got the Shotgun. All I want from this event is the Ghost shell. Bad luck for me cause you have to complete ALL armour objectives to get it. Too bad too sad for me. My Solstice is done!

What they want you to do is grind your balls off to the white glow, buy the color glows in the store, then transmog them via the bounties or buying weaves in the store because you used too many at the start of the season. :)
