Title.
Just a terrible experience, all around.

They match a full fireteam of 6 with a fireteam of 2 and 4 more randos. Hard to blame people for ditching.
-
They obviously don't care. It's been years.
-
Weak. This is the Banner and we get Phelps who can't hold their own. Pathetic.

LoL that’s because I refuse to play in a 3rd strait game where my team can’t leave its own spawn. “We’re breaking up the teams to find a better match” Only to practically get put back in the same lobby against the same players with the same potato teammates. Naaa I’ll just keep requeuing or just get sick of it and make a post for a FT. And I don’t like running stacks but the lobby balancing in this game is just atrocious.

I don't return in it when I finish the bounties on all my characters

3 RepliesI couldnt agree more! Firstly, let me say that players need to let Bungie make their money. Double or triple dip; how they are doing it is harmless. I want them to be rich and pay employees well. Now on to the issue at hand… SBMM. Why do you think Bungie focuses on "glossed-over" stats, like KDA and combat efficiency, instead of promoting an actual KD ratio? Why do you see so few new or inexperienced players? Why are the bottom third in skill constantly matched against "Flawless" and "Unbroken" players? Why are SOOO many Iron Banner matches ended by the mercy rule? Why is a game, that sports such expertly run pvp, not attracting more players? Why is Bungie now afraid to list it when people leave a match? Why are SOOO many people leaving (and throwing) matches anyway? The answer to all of these questions lies in Bungie's response to another question: Why is a very vocal minority of some of the better players so desperately scared of being matched with their peers of similar skill?? I cringe to think of what kind of molestation or ridicule someone must have endured as a child to make them not expect and want fair competition. To start, lets identify most of the bottom third of players. Anyone who is new or too young or old to have optimal reflexes, all those with any minor handicap to either hand or eyes or prescribed any medication that may slightly interfere with optimal cognitive capabilities, etc. Most of these people cannot just "get good." With the old sbmm system they had no problem finding fair matches. Now, all of the sudden, Bungie cant make appropriate matches?? I tried Bungie's supposed "sbmm" in competitive, and my team was repeatedly wiped, just trying to earn the very second rank. In addition, it took forever to get a game, and players were laging all over and shooting each other through walls, even with me running 1 Gig Internet, with everything hardwired. The competition was mostly skilled players. I was the lead scorer in 2 games and comparable to my team mates on the other games- so my performance wasn't the deciding factor. Bungie knows that people usually leave matches when they can't kill anyone-- but are less prone to do so when your team is winning-- which is why Bungie will matchmake to bring you closer to a 50/50 win/loss ratio. Bungie needs the bottom 30 percent to play crucible so their babied preferred customers have someone to kill and wont have a sweaty match. So they can try new weapons and have a relaxing crucible match. Yet, the bottom 30% are discouraged from trying a new weapon, because they are already matched against superior players, commonly equipped with trials weapons. Who needs help with trying new weapons more-- experienced players (who generally hit their shots irregardless of the weapon) or new players who are still trying to find an identity? Furthermore, the abomination of SBMM in Iron Banner is beyond contempt. Well over half of the matches are, or should be, mercied. Ever notice that matches are usually made up of 4 members roughly representing each third of the skill level? When that happens, who do you think the bottom third will have the majority of their engagements with? That’s right-- the two most skilled members on the other team. In a recent match, the top player on the other team had a 31 KD. That's right: 31.0. Mine was 0.67. Thanks again, Bungie. Almost all sports have some type of matchmaking. I haven't earned the right to challenge good players. (Btw, having worked so incredibly hard at crucible without results, I have gained a great respect for their skillz!) And I don’t want to be matched against players that I'm far better than. We just want to be matched with our peers of similar skill. The bottom line is that Bungie has made it clear that they will -blam!- the bottom third to the most skilled players, and piggyback off our servers to do it. They have made it clear that we don’t matter to their bottom line -- no matter how they lie or what publicity stunts they pull. These are the actions of a liar and a coward, Bungie. Period.

3 RepliesThat's strange, I wasn't getting many join in progresses or mercies overall compared to what it could be. Everyone's matchmaking is different but I'm someone who could some days have what seemed like 40% to 60% of my matches including one of those two things (mercies don't really bother me btw, as long as the shot registration and movement is fair and balanced). Its the weekend now and there is a seasonal challenge for trials so that could be taking some of the player population for a few days. It also seems like matches have been getting more challenging for a lot of people. Which could actually mean that they are matching closer to their actual player level skill. The problem with Destiny is that a lot of people think that fair matchmaking means that only the "good" players will be playing challenging matches when that's just not going to be the case if it works right.
