I for one only used it to counter rushers. You are now in severe disatvantage not having a shottie out, bc it takes ages to get these thing out of the back pocket. People here are now maining shotguns and especially slugs. Imo slugs do not need more skill than normal shoties. Aim upperchest, Boom headshots. A generall range nerf would have been better in my oppinion.

Make all shotguns only able to one shot at 3-4 meters. Nuff said, 8-9 meters is why they are so easy to use without any risk. Chaperone goes all the way to 13 meters but its an exotic which makes sense.

It was the laziest attempt at a fix I’ve ever seen

1 ReplyConsidering how many nerfs shotguns got over the years (23, if i am not mistaken) and none of them really fixed them, i think the problem is somewhere else. Maybe primaries dont do enough damage.
-
As someone who doesn't normally want nerfs, I am getting a bit tired of seeing so many shotguns..
-
We have a shotgun problem not a quickdraw problem. Nerfing quickdraw wasn’t going to fix anything it was just going to spoil a lot of weapons, which most weren’t shotguns.
-
Shotguns may need another cut on range. Either that or boost the damage of some primaries.
-
Good players will always find a way to get kills. Was quickdraw good? Absolutely! Did a lot of players think nerfing it will magically make then better? Yes! Did it happen? No lol Listen man, bungie can remove shotguns outright. Good players will immediately find something else.

7 RepliesCerberus+1 is my only suggestion. You can burst down any straight lining ape. And run double primary. To break the ammo feed....
sounds crazy huh
-
1 ReplyALL shotguns should have a 50% damage nerf via guardians...
-
1 ReplyQuickdraw never encouraged apeing. It was a defensive perk which worked perfectly against apeing. Nobody ran at you with their primary out to then switch to a shotgun because of quickdraw. The ammo economy for special weapons is the problem. The only fix I can think of that will encourage more primary engagements, is to reward special ammo directly into the special weapons mag when you get a primary kill. 1 round per kill maybe?

Shotguns just need to be removed from Crucible. Leave them in PvE. They were a massive problem in D1 and now D2. How can you ever balance a 1-shot, no-skill weapon? You can’t. Evidence is the number of nerfs shotguns had in D1 yet they were always a problem. And now in D2, shotguns are more of a problem because most of the maps were made for 4v4.

5 RepliesNope. People who just straight-line at you holding their shotguns out are now rewarded. Quickdraw really wasn’t an issue, imo.
-
😂 the comp playlist is full of idiots that never switch to their primary. Easy kills
-
It all lies on management and the sandbox team. I don’t think either are qualified.

3 RepliesEdited by michael: 6/28/2021 11:32:59 PMI mean the proof is in the putting if you look at weapon usage rates in trials. Shotguns have proportionally gone up in kill counts since the quickdraw nerf. The problem is quickdraw was always a defensive ability. People say "it encouraged apeing" but what encourages apeing is cumbersome gunplay that makes it hard to switch weapons, which makes people want to just have one gun out. What discourages apeing is fluid and snappy gunplay that allows you to have any weapon out at a moments notice, which causes people to think about their movement more when they push something since they cant predict what weapon someone will have out at any given time. Second thoughts about pushes=less apeing. Im not saying I agree or disagree with the quickdraw nerf, it doesnt matter what I think. What is a fact is that if you complained about shotgun apes and thought a quickdraw nerf would be a solution, you literally screwed yourself over by making the problem that you complained about worse for yourself by advocating for a poorly thought out solution.
