World bosses would be siick

Imagine if a high level boss would spawn randomly every day on a different destination and you could go track them down and kill them. Similar to how the lost sectors rotate every day. But instead of those exotics these world bosses could drop loot specific to them. It would be so cool to have these bosses show up with their own cool armor to grind for. This is how destiny was shown off in 2013. “Let’s go fight through that wall” and then a giant captain crawls out of a hole in the wall. That type of excitement is what the game is lacking.

    • Lots of the exciting ideas from D1 never made it to any version of either destiny game which is too bad. More dynamic patrol areas and things to do would be awesome though. It's all very static right now - go around and kill the little groups of 3-4 enemies, pick up a patrol if you want, drive around in your sparrow without much happening... Etc.

    • That would be a nice touch, but it would really depend on how it's executed. We already have the two secret bosses in the Dreaming City, but there's basically no reason to defeat them once you have the triumph. All you get for beating them is a public event chest, maybe a world drop engram if you're lucky. There are much easier ways to get both of those things. But give me challenging world bosses that are somewhat rewarding if you defeat them, I could get behind that.

    • Would be nice, but they wouldn't give is specific loot or anything for them. I kinda thought this was the purpose of Lost Sectors. To have a voluntary open world boss fight. But then, no good loot

    • We had these taken bosses that would spawn in missions when forsaken was released. You'd have to go find them though cause they'd be hidden.

    • That was a glorified tech demo. And a captain crawling out of a hole already happens. The other side of the wall was just a public event. As for world bosses, I would only want them if they are unique enemies with unique attacks and a sudden music change. Otherwise, it's just a super sized enemy no different than one of those High Value Targets on Europa.

      • Something like the Vex invasions on the Moon that we had in Season of undying or the Taken champions we had in D1 would be cool.Imagine roaming around the Moth yards in the Cozmodrome and it says something like "The Hive are rising" and all of a sudden Hive start spawning all over the area and you keep killing them to make a large Hive boss spawn in that you have to kill(doesn't need any mechanics just a lot of health).After defeating it a chest spawns in which would give you its own specific loot that you only get from the bosses on that destination meaning the different bosses on the same destination would give the same loot but would be different to the loot that you would get from the bosses on other destinations.

      • Kinda like the Taken bosses in the Cosmodrome, and on Mars & Venus in D1. That would definitely be fun.
