Trace rifles are -blam!-ing momentum
I used to enjoy momentum because it was a good way to unlock catalysts. Now it’s a shit show. More so for me because I’m “not good” but right now trace rifles are killing people in less then a second.
Why is it so hard to make PVP match making skill-based? If you do well in a match you go up a level if you do poorly you go down a level.
Why put people in the same match who have a 4. KDA with people who are lower than 1.

So that was fair but getting zapped isn't? Also, how is "skill-based" matchmaking going to help you in a game mode where all guns have a near instant ttk? I'd argue it asks more out of YOU as the player to use your cover and map awareness better than in any other mode.

2 RepliesI've said this before and I'll say it again, we need a tracerifle game mode where all tracerifles are buffed to what prometheus lens used to be pre nerf! Lazershow gamemode, Prometheus lens, cold heart, wavesplitter, divinity and ruinous effigy.

All weapons do more damage. They are fine.

Meh, I did find Prometheus Lens in particular to be annoying, but I had moderate success with Suros Regime on dual-speed receiver (PS4). Everything kills in 2-3 crits anyway, so it's all good. Well, except for the absolute nutcases taking advantage of no motion tracker to ape and corner camp with shotguns harder than ever. Oh, and the 1 body shot sniper cowards. [i]Y'all make me sick. At least go for my skull, you yeller-bellied polecats.[/i]

Poor pvp players always go for easy kill weapons and abilities.

1 ReplyChildren looking for the easy way. And since a majority of players are unemployed kiddos and teens, the problem is magnified. That's why there are so many hunters. Special snowflakes who will happily press 1 button to get a guaranteed kill instead of engaging in an actual shootout.

Same here. I used to love that mode. Hadn’t played it in a long time though, probably at least 6 months since I last played it. I used to enjoy running around with an smg or a 720 rpm auto. Now though cuz of this crap sandbox and all the cheaters and the tiny player base it’s just another PvP mode that has become crap. Just like mayhem. It’s nothing but trace rifles and handcannons. Nothing but wall hackers and aim botters. Nothing but horrible horrible lag and cheaters. Bungie seriously needs dedicated servers and a solid anti cheat. This games performance continues to degrade with every passing month.

Bungie nerfed jade rabbit because it was able to one shot, if bungie can nerf a weapon for a specific mode then its going to be easy for them to nerf trace rifles only on momentum.

I understand what you're saying but to me this post is like complaining about balance in Mayhem. The point is to have an offbeat game mode that's a break from the more balanced (more, not perfectly by any means) version of pvp.

I don’t think a high K/D matters much in that mode. Skill based matching would still have put you against laser guys... and they don’t have to be good to do exceedingly well with trace rifles. I resorted to just tossing one on and getting my kills out of the way for the seasonal challenge, after my first game in the mode had 2 guys on the enemy team using them and vaporizing me left and right. Idk how people think the mode is fun with those weapons and trinity ghoul... but I guess it’s the only way many will ever get 7th column, so people are going to take advantage. I got my kills out of the way quickly after using wave splitter and moved on since it’s not really a fun way to play imo. Few salty guys trading orbs from well of radiance and Phoenix protocol (equally cheesy) got upset with me, guessing trace is the only way to counter the well, and it’s not foolproof... so expect those hypocrites to remain even if traces get nerfed in that mode.

You do understand what Momentum Control is, right? It’s basically how the lightless fight along side us. Except you still get rezzed if you -blam!- it up.
