I recently found out that traction’s not even an automatic unlock, but this really just needs to be a gameplay option. It taking up a mod slot is kind of fine for PvP, but I usually am running a specia and heavy weapon in PvE, and even if traction isn’t needed in PvE, it messes with my consistency from constantly switching it on and off.
Until higher sensitivity options and ads multiplier come, traction is pretty much the best thing us controller players have. Especially with crossplay on the horizon, this is a much needed quality of life improvement. Literally every other FPS game I’ve played has at least an ads multiplier, and usually also split x and y axis, and sometimes even sensitivity multipliers based on zoom level, or sens numbers going into the tenths place (like 5.6 sens for example). Destiny 2 is quite behind the times on controller settings.
Without having traction as an automatic toggle in settings, it is hard for controller players to keep consistency and performance.
And don’t tell me that I’m trying to just make the game easier, because traction taking up a mod slot is a straight up disadvantage compared to MnK. Having it as an option should be the norm, not having to sacrifice a scav.
Tl;dr: make traction an option in the gameplay settings or add ads sens multipliers (or both).

5 RepliesWhen they decrease controllers aa I'm down.

It would be fine imo if they made a separate mod slot (like they did for raid mods) for boots.
-
4 RepliesTraction shouldn't even exist. What should exist is separate hipfire and ADS sensitivity settings.

yep. i've seen these posts many times and i've made multiple myself here and on reddit but Bungie never acknowledges it or even says they are passing this idea on to the dev team. i dont know why they dont fix this problem. console players shouldnt be penalized for being on controller/console. it's ridiculous and should be fixed.

Do the same with Fastball too.

Bump!

4 Repliespsa: traction does nothing on pc

Edited by A KOOL POP TART: 6/3/2021 4:28:34 PMI say we just make it a base player trait. Why make it a toggled-feature when everyone uses it?

1 ReplyThis needs to get done!!!! I’ll take it a step further even, give us a slider also to adjust the effect.

Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 6/3/2021 3:00:13 AMAnd fastball.. Without it my guardian has a noodle arm

BUMP! 10000000000000% agree.

And that MnK don't need traction, so yeah best next thing for traction is to be a setting thing.

1 ReplyJust add Field of View sliders on old gems. Boom problem solved. The cameras can go into third person even in destiny 1 on Xbox 360 so the processing power clearly isn’t much of an issue, it’s a Bungie issue.

1 ReplyThe fact that the mod doesn’t cost anything makes this an even more obvious choice.

1 ReplyEdited by ZombieQahnaarin: 6/2/2021 5:17:12 PMMore sensitivity options. Traction shouldn’t even be a thing, extra turn speed a build choice lul.

Me personally I think it’s fine as is. Takes 0 energy and can be run with basically any build

40 RepliesEdited by Mr Jim Lahey: 6/2/2021 7:18:09 PMAlso add look sensitivity and ads sensitivity for console users! It’s tough for me to switch from RE village, cod, apex, halo, Paladins, and destiny Destiny feels so different compared to the rest Of course they’re bots who rather not have these types of gameplay options 😂 Weirdos

Agreed.

Comment for bump

I’m indifferent on this but I’ll give a bump. I don’t think it’ll ever happen but I don’t mind if it does.
-
It's not something I'd use but more options for players is always a good thing. Have an upvote.

23 RepliesWhy? So people can run double shotgun scavengers & push PvP even further down this spiral of imbalance? Before we make that kinda change, I’d argue for more modes that are specifically geared towards play styles. That reward you special ammo, when you’ve done something for it. Like capping zones, doubled kills, 2-3 assisted kills, getting ability kills, super kills, and so on. Deprecate the current mods, in favor of new mods that lay into this concept.
