It is utterly devoid of merit. The jumping puzzles are nonsensical (yes, I know there are parkour geniuses here, I am not one of them so spare me your indignation). Snipers picking you off while trying to execute jumps that have you land on a platform the size of a postage stamp is not fun. Moreover, every time you die, you are SENT FURTHER BACK in the map? Who thought this was a good idea?
Some of the geometry can kill you, for no reason. Step wrong? Dead. Land on a specific piece of platform? Dead. Land on the wrong part of a jump ball? Dead. Oh, and sometimes the jump ball doesn't even work, which is nice. After all of that, you make it to the "boss" who goes down faster than crypto. And what do you get at the end? A pinnacle? Nope. Oh, "high stat armor?", erm, ok, why was mine 53?
This entire activity is pointless and one of the worst things Bungie has ever done and to tie a seasonal challenge to a time trial of this garbage is simply masochistic.

Agreed. I was honestly quite happy when I died as the boss died in the corrupted expunge and I got locked out of my rewards. It's exactly what I needed to never step foot in the game mode again. People love to say they like it and defend Bungie, especially on DTG, but Bungie sees the analytics, it's likely sending up red flags for how many people quit during it, quit playing directly after it, or just plain don't do it at all.
-
The idea is neat until you realize its a jump puzzle that repeats itself, not made for certain classes, I wish people would open their eyes and see this is just boring content, remember when we got raids within the annual pass, now its mote activities
-
I totaly agree with that! Expunge is a total waste of time and just plain boring and time consuming. And even worse, i HAVE to play the shitty thing to get the seasonal armor. Hope next season brings gets better or i´m otta here after 5.5years of destiny..
-
But it looks so good! Actual new content, I can’t complain.
-
You do know that you can jump and move in this game right? It's so damn easy, stop complaining, it's finally new stuff and you just complain. This is why we don't get new stuff.

4 Repliesif there wasnt the challenge for 10 minutes (took me between 30-40 mins each time) which will ultimately prevent me to complete all the challenges i wouldnt mind at all\ but yea, its zero fun , and i wont play it more than the one time i had to ever again

3 RepliesEdited by Wintermute 2050: 6/1/2021 7:19:06 PMThis week has more of the same crap. I am skipping these missions. If I wanted to play Super Mario, I would have bought a different console.
-
You suck at jumping lol. I think is pretty fun.
-
I’m awaiting the pinnacle, yet it’s not that bad.
-
3 RepliesLol I quite like it. I love sword flying with ramparts for an easy solo flawless in under 10 mins too 😁
-
Pressing the x button helps
-
I suck at platforming too. Yet this shit is elementary school platforming. How bad do you need to be to complain about basic jumps in expunge.
-
Weren't around for Seraph towers huh? Cool cool.
-
1 ReplyMad cos bad
-
Don’t play it then
-
I like the Aesthetic even tho I felt like this week was a bit easier than I hoped Its incredibly different from the last puzzle which has me excited to see what alse there is on these missions
-
This week is hell of alot easier then last week thats for sure
-
1 ReplyIf you thought Expunge was tough platforming, remind me to never invite you to a run of King's Fall.
-
The missions are awesome

IMO they feel really fun but I do understand the frustration of the obstacles and parkour. I had ran the weekly expunge mission and my buddy was unable to get past the first obstacle due to it being off cadence. So he was just stuck at the first obstacle till I got the join allies checkpoint. Then when trying to through lasers, my buddy would make it past it but would take big damage after making it past it safely. I'll to you friend, he was not happy with that mission. meanwhile I was running through the mission clean and laughing at him! In the end the loot is very bad as well. They should add a chest at the end similar to the override activity that would grant encrypted data and seasonal weapon or armor.
-
Yeah they feel like filler content. This season is all filler content with afk activities. Unlimited respawns included. Its definitely lame.
-
It’s kinda dumb. Difficulty not the issue, it’s just the inconsistent wonky mechanics that waste your time and can be irritating. Whether it’s the ledge grab not working or activating, to dying on the jump jets if you land the wrong way BUT if you try to land a little ahead of where you died, it won’t boost you and you fall to your death. Also getting killed by the architects for no reason whatsoever. You could die in the same spot twice and have two different spawn points. That kinda stuff some people just have no time for. It should be a side quest that doesn’t need to be completed to advance the weekly story. 10 min is doable solo, but making that a conscious decision to spend my time in this game...doubtful. Beautiful board tho. Can’t win them all. On a positive note, Override is great, fun, worth the time and has good loot.
-
Idk what to tell you.. it was pretty easy as far as platforming goes. First fun when I didn't know where to go was 11 minutes.
-
gotta get that parkour.
-
What's garbage about is that they released it without having a reward yet. Also, I can't tell you how many times ive died jumping on to those launch pads, it's getting ridiculous. Anyone else having this issue? And don't tell me to just jump right into the actual launch beam because I've tried that, still hit the half sphere, break my legs and die.
