Your Hunter is the only of your characters that has any Destiny 2 game history, as you first started their D2 career in May of 2018. Your Warlock was never used to play D2 until your recent game sessions, so they are in fact a new character to Destiny 2. It is correct that your Warlock will need to complete the Guardian Rises quest, as all new characters are required to. With the launch of Beyond Light, the year one story campaigns were removed from the game, and put into the Destiny Content Vault. Those campaigns cannot be played at this time, nor can players access some of the ordinal planets/locations from year one. Those characters are starting from the same spot as all current new to D2 characters, and will not be meeting Ghaul at this time. They will instead experience the revamped intro mission, and the new player intro quest on the Cosmodrome. They will also be starting from the current base power level, rather than having to grind up from zero.
