The logic behind this change is just...not logical.
They were a permanent unlock before at 40 dust. Does the removal of needing legend shards to repurchase justify like a 700% increase in bright dust cost? No, no it does not. Especially since no one really gives a rip about legend shards.

Edited by 123TheCloop: 4/22/2021 10:21:13 PMyou would be surprised. now that shards are required for umbral engrams at 1-5 shards an engram depending on which one you get along with shards for material conversion and having 3 chars with "potentially" differing armour/shader styles yh it does add up. it adds up to a point that just obtaining 20 shaders from collections would be equal to 40 shards (40 shards is equal to 40 legacy umbral engrams or 8 focused engrams at 5 shards a pop) which if your someone who burns through time by playing several hours a day its pretty easy to amass a full stack of umbral engrams. lets add that cost of armour masterworking needing shards, ghost upgrades needing shards, weapon masterworking needing shards (and or) rerolling masterworked or any high level armour because you want to run a different build but need that "arc/solar/void" energy slot that but you dont have the piece to swap out to compensate for it

Dude...I throw away shards without a second thought. I focus engrams not even really chasing any specific rolls, upgrade armor on a whim, and have piles upon piles of shaders laying around that yes, I purchased from collections. I still made 2000 shards this season. Most people I know are sitting on 10k plus shards. If anything we need MORE ways to spend our shards not less. I certainly don't need more things to spend dust on, I am already dust broke and am passing on things I legitimately want but don't have dust for. Which leads us to what this change is REALLY about. An attempt to manipulate the store so people use real money more often. I know I know, how dare a business try and make money. To that I say make a product worth selling, don't nickle and dime people in a damn microtransactions store. It's disgusting.

Yeah I have well over 14k, not a problem lol. The rate of dismantling shit far outpaces the rate at which you require them.
