Get rid of the sunstetting gear light caps!!!
I have been playing destiny since taken king, and I prided myself on my collection of masterworked and stylish armor I earned over the years, but now I cant use any of it since it won’t infuse any higher. This needs to be removed because it’s -blam!-ing bullshit and serves no reasonable purpose.

I know people would be upset to find they deleted something special to them if it were truly undone, however, I don't think that's really enough to justify not fully resolving the problem. I mean people deal with and get over so much crap from Bungie, what different is this from deleting a weapon before it "became meta" or something and feeling bad that you now don't have it. Such backlash theoretically could have been avoided if people had the vault space to keep those precious items, but then others reject this because it doesn't do anything for them, see it as a waste of time/resources and label you a hoarder in a derogatory way. Had Collections not been a complete joke of a "permanent storage solution", maybe more space wouldn't be needed, but even then, it would have to be interactive with something like DIM, to not make more vault space more appealing. And then someone will make an argument against Recluse despite not being OP anymore, Mountaintop even thought they nerfed it (so much so apparently that no one really uses it anymore in the Crucible), and Revoker which could really just use a rework to its perk entirely (regening missed shots is not reversing of any fortune or revoking anything. Gun should actually take things and as a PvP oriented sniper, ammo maybe? shoot to loot?). Afraid of combination power between them all? Make them exotic. Then people can't go nutzoid with all of them.

3 RepliesI get the mountain top and recluse deal, but I worked for sweet weapons like delirium, edgewise, oxygen, hush to just name a few. The current sunset or legacy deal is enough to make me want to stop playing. I don't want to delete these items, but they're sitting there as a constant reminder. Please give them back. if all I got back was birthright then maybe, but to just throw it all away like that was a huge mistake, and bungie admits it, so undo it? Give them back through collections or something.

Sun setting has been stopped. Any item that’s 1310 cap or higher will always be able to be upgraded. Stuff that has already been sunset is gone. It’s been a year get over it.

18 RepliesToo late now. [b]Many[/b] players deleted their old god rolls to make room for vault space. It'd cause too much backlash. Also, we don't need Revoker/Mountaintop ruining Trials + Iron Banner. Thanks. It's not perfect, but removing sunset caps moving forward is the best play Bungie could make.

They are removing sunsetting but all current sunset gear will unfortunately be staying sunset. So unfortunately they are either vault space or matirials. Think of it like this, people deleted them. To reissue them would kinda be a seen as a dick move. The thing is, whilst some weapons were fantastic and were underrated... Mountaintop and recluse... They don't need to come back, seriously they made the game easy and streamers of course used them 24/7 and starting crying that the game was too easy causing bungie to make the game harder. Some weapons were beautiful... Some weapons were underrated... Some were absolutely crap... And some... Were hidden gems.

When you delete the weapons, you won't have to deal with them anymore. It's a win win for everyone!

Or my Le Monarque-lite Subtle Calamity... Or my Martyr's Retribution... Or my god roll Line in the Sand now that linear fusions are actually getting a balance pass soon... They're still in my vault of course, but they're pretty much useless in any content beyond basic crucible.

I’d be pissed if things were un-sunsetted after that, and I know that others would be too. There’d be an uproar. If anything I’d say remove the caps on the most recent pinnacle weapons and leave all the others. There’s no reason brand new guns like Randy’s, Python, Exit Strategy, etc should be sunsetted when they are so recent. Edit: I’d also like to point out that you can still use the weapons to their full capacity in games that don’t have a recommended light level, like Control, Strikes, etc.

Nothing should be sunset. It is atrocious that Bungie did that whole farce just so they could essentially delete 3 years’ worth of content & look like heroes when doing it. Disgusting.

I think this was there way of fixing the vault space problem, instead of increasing vault space have everyone delete all there favorite armor and weapons from the vault...?

I'm trying to hold on to some favorites for another season or two, hoping that with the new direction the game is under that they will deliberately or accidentally restore old weapons (or at least increase vault space). But sadly, realistically, there is probably roughly a 0% chance of either of those things ever happening.

Progress on anything should never be sunsetted while game is still running. If you have a problem about balancing and power, then don't put it in the game and let people grind for them. If it's in the game then it's in the game. Progress on grind should not be taken away while game is running. If you have a problem with it then don't put it in the game. If you reset it and make a new game then maybe. If it's the same game then it shouldn't.

Will lose its infusions caps and everything old as -blam!- will be still sunset. You have a couple weeks till you are getting changes to what you are posting about. Honestly. Most weapons are reissued and drop in The World. One's you lost and were your favourite, have a reskin somewhere waiting for you. IE: Bonechiller, is the same as a shotgun I had since year 1 that was sunset. I think sunsetting is dumb. Especially since all the Enhancement Prism and Acendent Shards we used to masterwork before Sunsetting was ever mentioned we lose and it is hard to even get any since things like Pit Of Harressy dropping masterworked armour and etc are no longer existent. No realiable sources for replacements.
