Consider slightly reducing Grandmaster light requirement
As someone who works full time and can only play 2 or 3 days a week, getting to 325 before the season ends is quite some task. Im on 314 currently and ive done all pinnacles / vanguard bounty / crucible bounty / gambit bounty plus season pass xp bonus and ghost xp bonus.

They are already kinda doing this. Max light is only raised by 10 each dlc season.

Or just get rid of the requirement. If people want to go in there severely under levelled then let them. Everything will still pretty much 1 tap anyway.

The only argument i see against this is "its for the elite, not casuals" If grinding 15 power levels of xp make you elite, then cool. Contest is active so you can put it at 1310 and it would still be more difficult than a 1330 master.

I agree and I have no issue hitting the requirements each season. TBH it makes no sense that it can’t be a 1340GM with a 1315 entry level.

I’d like grandmasters to just be at the pinnacle cap (1310 this season) but it just reduces you by 25 light when you go in. I don’t see the need for this pointless light level and artifact experience grind just to have a chance at it.

It's not all about pinnacles, you should be doing all bounties fairly heavily, including planetary ones. Also boost more than one character at a time. Destiny is probably made for 14-25 year old players that are still in school or maybe not working a career or having a family yet. Im sure their prime demographic isn't adults with families and full time employment where they can only play a couple of times per week.

Yea, the grind isn’t hard at all, but unnecessary. There’s no reason they couldn’t make the GM 1250 and cap everyone at 1225, that way anyone can access it. This wouldn’t change anything, would just allow lower people to try it.

It’ll actually be easier to get the the light required moving forward. Instead of +50 every season the light is going down to +10 during a new season (excluding expansions)

49 RepliesNo. Grand master is just that. The end all be all for PVE end game. Go do heroic events if you play here and there. While I think PVP is absolute shit I do enjoy PVE and I think there needs to be something for players that devote a lot of time in this game. I worked hard to make sure I could do the grand master when it dropped.

There's no real reason for it to be that high. Contest is active, just have it be 1320 with contest. Remove the grind, keep the challenge.

Pro tip: save all your daily bounties, join a 6 stack lfg for any activity, hit the ground, and turn them all in for xp boost. You can leave after that lmao. Be sure to save your challenges for at the end of the week too. It’s the fastest way to boost artifact and levels

I don't think Bungie will change this because the next level cap is only +10 each season from now on. It will have Contest mode as well. I wonder if they will push GM early in the next season because we more time to farm Adept weapon is more than welcome.

1 ReplySlightly reduce? Considering they cap your Power Level to to be 30 below the enemies, I'd say aggressively reduce the requirement There'd be no change in difficulty if they made the requirement be 1000 Power. The difficulty comes from being forcibly under-leveled alongside all the modifiers

13 RepliesNo. GMs are supposed to be end-game. Period. They're fine where they're at. This is coming from someone who never bothered with a GM until this season as there was no reason before now to even do them.

1 ReplyThey’ve hit a sweet spot with GMs where they do feel like endgame. They’re more endgame than raids as the loot acquired is that good. I think the 1325 is fair, the dick move would be putting them at 1330.

This isn't really a necessary topic at this point. Theyre reducing the power grind to only 10 per season after this, so it'll be much easier to get up to GMNF level.

1315 plus an additional 10 every season is fair. Reducing GM light by 10 will balance it out.

It’s literally high level endgame pve for players who invest a lot of time. Sucks not to have the time to ingage but for those who live and breath the game I don’t think it’s fair to ask it be dumbed down even if it’s only light level because you don’t have the time to play the game. That group needs some reason to validate their insane light level. If you think gm’s are too hard or to high leveled then you aren’t part of the playerbase they are intended for plain and simple.
