they remove the reason to have primary. this is why y1 was waaaayyy better.
also reduce the ability spam.

2 RepliesGetting rid of scavenger perks in pvp would be a start

Special ammo economy needs changed but removing special weapons is not the answer
-
5 RepliesLooks to me like you've upset the zoo. All the apes are getting hot and bothered by your post.

This is a simple case of literally just “git gud”. My friend you must improvise, adapt, and overcome. No one should have to be punished for your needs to be met. Adapt with ten times, it’s been at least 6 years of special weapons.

16 RepliesI think a huge Aa Reduction and increased horizontal flinch for snipers. Also cut shotguns ohk range to 6m and do 75% less damage after 6m. Would solve the problem. But Bungie loves the kids who Hold W key get 1 or 2 kills with their shotgun and die.

they remove the reason to have primary. this is why y1 was waaaayyy better. also reduce the ability spam.
Sounds like the only way you could get kills was team shooting. Must be tough to lose your 1v1s
-
3 RepliesGot it backwards l, y1 was absolute garbage. No ability, too much primary. It's in a real good place now except for 120 hand cannons
-
Year 1 sucked harder than any other time in Destiny's history. So.... nope
-
1 ReplyI mainly run a sidearm and a 180 hand cannon and get most of my kills with the sidearm. Been enjoying using DMT recently but haven’t got the roll on brass attacks that I’m looking for to use it as effectively as I would like so I’m pairing it with felwinters in the interim. But generally as a defensive when people are being to aggressive. Primaries are in a really great spot at the moment and while shotgun apes can be irritating, you do actually have a large variety to counter them. Same goes for snipers! It’s all about mixing up your build and trying new load outs for different scenarios!

1 ReplyYear One was a non-stop teamshoot fest and most players hated it. That's why Bungie changed it. Even with today's lower TTK's, the same thing would happen. I agree that the special ammo economy needs tuning, but taking away special weapons is just bad design.

1 ReplyStop trying to make this game boring please.

Edited by High Charity: 3/16/2021 4:09:08 PMYou mean when Destiny tried to be an esport and you all finally realized that will literally never work for this franchise? Hard pass.
-
5 RepliesHey, I guess we found the single person who thought y1’s weapon system wasn’t hot garbage
-
While we’re at it, maybe we can remove all weapons, replace them with pillows and have 12-man pillow fights instead.
-
16 RepliesJust accept that Destiny PvP is more of an arcade game than a serious shooter. Class abilities, roaming supers, & exotics all create an explicitly unbalanced sandbox. It's fun, but it will never be a fair fight. Also Y1 was crap and drove a million players off the franchise.

Cooldowns for special in pvp, once fired, gotta wait for the recharge to fire again. Primary use increases recharge rate 😁

1 ReplyEdited by TheArtist: 3/15/2021 3:23:35 PMNo. No other shooter has to starve weapons for ammo. The problem is that primaries kill too slowly, and if you remove specials, people will fall back on team shooting. Which is boring and one-dimensional. As the only counter to team shooting is more team shooting.
-
1 ReplyThe no specials was nice but the ttk was terrible and you had almost no chance against more than one player. But screw specials
-
1 ReplyEdited by IAGNRG: 3/16/2021 1:03:37 PMDisagree, special weapons make the game better. One reason I disliked the vanilla version of this game was the lack of variety (although other aspects I liked very much). Special weapons themselves aren’t such a problem, but the prevalence of the ammo is what is truly an issue. When you have zero regard for using your ammo, because you’ll get more through practically any avenue, even death, there’s no point in not using it. All in all, keep special weapons, and keep them strong, but work on the economy.
-
Just reducing the ammo should be fine
-
10 RepliesLmao, D2 vanilla was garbage.

3 RepliesTop players have their primary out way more than their special because the primary is ultimately more versatile in the engagement range. But they have quickdraw on all of their specials so that they can swap to it when someone pushes too close. My solution would be to make gambit maps also crucible maps. I feel like it would be really cool to just play on a giant, open map, where you need to use cover to move around. This would make slide-shotguns much worse in these maps. I also like that Gambit maps tend to have more than one main plane. Most crucible maps except for something like twilight gap are just completely flat, and Gambit has nice buildings and arches. The maps need to cater less towards shotgun rushing and then things will be better.

8 RepliesEdited by TonnoSenpai: 3/15/2021 4:24:15 PMremove scavenger from pvp, fixed for you and yeah on pvp all ability/supers should have x2 recharge time

they remove the reason to have primary. this is why y1 was waaaayyy better. also reduce the ability spam.
Primaries are still getting more kills than specials. There’s just a wider variety of primaries being used. The only change to specials needed is more variety instead of everyone using Felwinters. There are other good shotguns, just no one using them.
