Why can we only scan one Smuggling Compartment data pad and one set of scannables per week, and not the ones from previous weeks?
I missed the Week 2 data pad/scannables, and just scanned them today. Do I really have to wait another week to scan this week's? Shouldn't the first 3 weeks of data pads and scannables be available since we're on Week 3? Now I'm behind on the triumph because of this stupid time-gating.

It is kind of stupid but I get their logic. That gun having different rolls is just another time gate mechanic. Most players will be running Presage once a week anyway to get the rolls they want, so why not have the mission change slightly weekly to make it not so repetitive. Hawkmoon mission did the same thing. Making content is hard in Destiny so Bungie really try their best to squeeze the absolute most out of any content they create. D1 was famous for their "new" missions actually being an old mission but you run it backwards.

Is anyone actually surprised they made it time gated though? We are talking about the same people that teased a transmog system for several seasons only to reveal that the transmog system will also be, you guessed it...... another grind.

1 ReplyYeah, time-gating on top of F.O.M.O on a weekly basis is complete bullshit. It's a single mission. If it's going to be time-gated, just time gate each piece. Stop being so selective Bungie.

I decided to walk away from that quest. I ran it enough to get the weapon and did the catalyst, now it can sit there like most other stupid activities

3 RepliesWait, they've seriously made scannables a weekly thing? No wonder so many people are pissed at the state of this game. I'm glad I've slowed down playing, and I'll be perfectly fine if I end up not playing altogether, this game is getting ridiculous.

It is really annoying and I agree, it gets even more intense in the grind for splintered and the grind that was required for chronicler.

Edited by Aramazia Kin: 3/3/2021 4:48:39 PMI'm with you on the scannables (I'm a week behind), but I'm like 90% sure I opened week 1 and 2s smuggling compartments last week then opened the latest one this week. The compartments seem to be tied to the Captain's Log you get at the end of the mission, they're weekly as well, but as long as you have them you can open the compartments whenever you want (I think)

Tbf the scannables for me aren’t really the issue because apparently there are only 3 sets of them, so in 3 weeks you get them and the ghost associated. It’s like the whisper mission and the zero hour that add the burn and puzzles rotation. The data pads however, are a complete different story as they are related to the lore book and you only get a lore entry per week. I’m stuck at 2/12 even though I completed the mission all 3 weeks.

Because I ran a run Week 1, didn’t grab the data pad that week, ran a run Week 2 and grabbed both, and haven’t yet ran one this week. Trying to figure out if maybe there’s some reason why some people like myself were able to pick up the pads retroactively while others like yourself were not.

I had to wait 3 weeks just to shoot 1 set if drones cause i missed it once They have done this before, you wont miss the seal like some people are panicking about the activity is staying till witch queen and so is the Seal from what i hear, hell you can still do the Warden seal from what i hear

Yup. I didnt play pasage the first week so im a week behind. I dont really care though because it takes 12 weeks although its stupid that the compartment can only be opened after the first run each week.

I agree that it's currently a pain to obtain, Captain's log triumph & Another link in the chain triumph due to the time gated system. I hope that Bungie gives us some clarity regarding this.
