Sunsetting all my armor was what broke my addiction. I played every IB in D1 on all three chars, because despite all the lag and fu[i]ck[/i]ups, it was still fun. D2 made it stale and boring. Everything in D2 feels stale and boring. Getting hunted by Death Knights in the Ascended Realm was the last time I had fun with D2.

Anyone who's happy sunsetting is gone, head over here and let's help Bungie think of a better solution to shift the game's meta.

So 1310 and up? I wish it was 1060 and up

This is a major positive change. This is the definition of a psychological patch that the player base needed.

Problem with sunsetting imo was RNG. When they brought back the D1 weapons and hearing about how their abysmal drop rates were especially behind the hardest content I had no reason to grind. There's no point imo since by the time I got the roll I wanted the weapon would have been expired. I want to enjoy a weapon while it still has it's time in the sun.

But we don't know what it means to them and what the "Right" rewards they wanna bring into the game a year from now. That statement right there is still sketchy. Be observant. Wait and see what they'll do next. I know we got some good news today, celebrate! But there are some bad news as well. They wanted sunsetting, and they got what they came to do. Lose 3 years of our rewards. Never to be used again. They may recycle them back. But we'll never use the ones we got rewarded for in the past 3 years. All that playtime, effort, and rewards, gone! I don't want to rain on our parade, guys. I want you to celebrate. But stay sceptical about the future. You should know who you're dealing here by now. I'm still out! Now I can finally start master working my stuff next season and not worrying that it will be sunset anymore

Glad its going away. My biggest argument over actively sunsetting weapons is it makes the already ridiculous grinds so unbearable. Like you're just grinding for this god roll that will be guaranteed, forced useless in a season or two. What's the point of the chase if you will be forced to give up everything you worked for? Would you put work into anything in your actual life if you knew 100% you'd forcefully get it taken from you? Just seems dumb to me. If it naturally happens, ok cool, that's fine because that means the progress for creating better weapons is naturally succeeding, and that's how things work. Even videogames have natural selection. Sounds odd right? But its true; survival of the fittest applies to everything. Eventually loot just naturally loses its purpose as games evolve, which is really how it should be. There will always be those few that still contend forever, and that's pretty awesome, and can be annoying, but either way, it really is a testament to how well that item was created. I find that interesting. The best games flow. They aren't forced, they don't feel unnatural, everything from loot to story to character development just flows. Actively sunsetting just doesn't feel natural, it doesn't flow, and it feels entirely defeating, like a punishment for all the hard work, because it is work. As far as meta goes? I just see that its something that is unaffected by anything except "what is most powerful now?" No matter what you do, what system is implemented there's always at least a slight meta, something, or some things that are better than the rest, so trying to negate it completely just really seems like a self defeating task. I've given enough input though. Especially for the toxicity that I'm rather certain will follow.

Uhm... I can't see this as a victory. Imho, we didn't had enough time to see if the Sunsetting would have eventually worked in the Destiny echosystem. Am I glad that Bungie listened a big portion fo the community? Sure. Still, I think we needed more time.
