So...
I haven't completed it yet, BUT-
A scorn boss that looks like the hangman is the big bad we're after
Now, from what I've seen so far I doubt it's actually Reksis Vhan.
Rather it's a different boss using his model
I mean I'm not 100 percent sure, for all I know it IS the hangman and he just found a new job or something, but I doubt it
Regardless, scorn content is good content so I'm very greatful
okay it's definitely not him, Bungie was lazy and just reused his model
Basically spitting on the Barons... Fffffun
8 RepliesLmao, you're just now complaining about re-used boss models? Hop on board the train. First the hive fans had to deal with it, then the fallen fans, and then the cabal fans, now the scorn fans. Only the vex have gotten away relatively unscathed.

2 RepliesThe anxiety I get when he turns around and runs towards me while I struggle to jump away with glide
-
7 RepliesI like that we beat him by turning on the air conditioning.
-
4 RepliesThis Quest Reminds me of 'Event Horizon' Very interested to see how it plays out further into the season. Think it might change like Harbinger did...
-
2 RepliesWe stilll have yet to see chonk screb we must retain our hopes
-
3 RepliesHonest question, are you sure it’s not him? Like there’s no possibility that The Hangman could’ve been resurrected by Fikrul, and then somehow was abducted by Calus or something?
-
1 ReplyWas expecting something a lot -blam!-ing uglier for a being witg traveler knows how many minds melded together, but instead we got hangman 2.0, others will call him legion, I will call him!....Kevin, the big-brain ravger! In other news excited to see champion scorn come with the master version.

1 ReplyEdited by Knightlight: 2/16/2021 11:22:21 PMI feel like your the one who set up this problem. Messing with scorn, you got a Guardian killed.
and made me spend 2 brutal hours on the mission
-
It's not the hangman

3 RepliesScorn are the scourge of Destiny. I hate them. But this boss fight is satisfying. I will always hate scorn, they have that ether teleport when you start doing damage, and they will start shooting you before they totally respawn.
-
10 RepliesOf course they reused his model. This is Bungie we are talking about, who made Valus Ta'aruc a regular Centurion. I understand being demoted because of being defeated, but come on. That boi was massive.
-
At least its not takens once again XD
-
Well, I’m glad you got your Scorn dude.

1 ReplyEdited by vwwok: 2/17/2021 8:03:50 PM
The boss is called Locus and I forgot the rest of the title. It sounds like the Cabal were trying to use the scorn as vessels for the darkness to communicate through like Oryx did with an Ogre. Only Locus survived the experiments however. The environment growth is similar to what's on Drifter's ship. Dead Man's Tale weapon lore refers to Galen-4 who was mentioned in the season of the hunt hunter armour lore. He has his warbeast, so it's set after the hunt armour lore, but the gun and lore are written from the owners perspective. During the mission you can hear the voice of Uldren speak to you. The line I had was "even paradise is a prison, when you can't leave." So that's interesting since that's what Riven posing as Mara said.
1 ReplyI was all excited to get there, and it's just -blam!-ing scorn. I thought this was gonna be our first encounter with the real soldiers of the dark. Can nobody make up an new race anymore?
-
2 Replies<Probably the only part of that strike I didn't like all that much. All this buildup and the boss is literally just the Hangman. Even uses his theme.>
-
5 Repliesactual spoilers below so don’t read unless you finished the quest. you have been warned!
i thoroughly enjoyed this quest! it was hard, and it took me a solid 4 hours to complete, but i got through. nothing is more terrifying than a giant scorn speaking in the voices of dead friends... reminds me of that creature in the movie annihilation that mimicked the voices of the characters. spooky stuff! it also broke my heart hearing cayde and sagira’s voice! HOW DARE THAT SCORN DO THAT TO ME!!!
1 ReplyReused boss models aren't exactly...new. *Points at literally every other faction in the game*
-
1 ReplyYou finally got your wish man, Bungie listens
-
4 RepliesIm sad there was no Kaniks. :(
-
1 ReplyReksis Vhan more like Reskin Vhan.
-
1 ReplyThe mission for the new rifle (dead mans tale) was really (besides the reskin boss) it was a great balance between so complicated u gotta wait for a guide and two brain cell’s and a YOLO
-
4 RepliesEdited by Natdeguerre: 2/17/2021 3:19:14 AMHe is an annoyingly swift mother-blam!-er. The rest of the mission was kind of ideal for solo exploring. But the boss can just stomp you into those tight wall spaces too easily. And sadly people can’t join at the end. Btw, I can’t quite recall, but did the Hangman also have this carpet of flames shooting along the ground from when he used his flail?

1 ReplyThey reused the model but he isn't a individual... He is a nexus of many scorn. Like a scorn boss with multiple essences of other scorn. If you listen to osiris they were experimenting on the scorn and exposing them to the anomoly. All of the died from brain death and this thing... Is basically the incarnation of all those scorn into one. Its something completely different with the same model.

1 ReplyWas hoping Fikrul would've gotten involved.

1 ReplyYou should read the captains log lore book on Ishtar collective. Very nice read
