Should there be a Hardcore mode for Crucible?
💡This Hardcore mode would be an addition to the Crucible. Not a replacement of what we have now. Just another option.
What do you all think?

No balance between the classes kinda makes those points moot. Doesn't matter too much if everyone is using primary ammo when every hunter can disengage a gunfight once they realize they're losing or a titan can shoot through an impenetrable barrier...

For those that say - this game is about "space magic", I'd ask you to see how Bungie markets this game, how stores display the genre of this game, and how just about everyone categorizes it: FPS First Person Shooter I believe the "shooting" part refers mainly to guns. Wanting to use guns in an FPS I believe would be a fair request. Am I off-base here?

What do you all think?[/quote] Why do people insist on fighting the game? If you don’t like D2 PvP there are plenty of FPS combat sims to choose from. Feel free to play them for that and D2 for space magic.

That's Call of Duty mode. There already are other games that give you that, and do it better.

7 RepliesIt all sound good but I see 2 issues with the proposal, I am assuming when you said all weapons are balanced, you meant a sandbox like all guns have similar/same TTK etc which would be a hard no for me. Because, Destiny is only upside nowadays is it's gunplay (yeah yeah statis won't allow that in pvp, and that's for another day) and you standardise the TTK and guns all the uniqueness of the weapons will disappear and Destiny will lose whatever soul it has left. The other issue is "no radar". I got no issues having no radar but don't we already know what's gonna happen? Some will immediately start crouching around corners all game with a shotgun, then some of the players who haven't already starting to do that will get pissed and start fight fire with fire. At that point you gonna see that have half of players base playing "corner sitting" game. Some of the remaining brave souls who hasn't joined the sitting shotgunners, will start hanging at the back of the maps with scout and pulses (or HC, since there is not much range in the maps). Now, at this point you will have only small percentage of players playing as usual and the rest playing hide and seek.

PvP is in bad spot as it is. It's a pity because I did like PvP.

1 ReplyLol hardcore mode would be empty. Destiny 2 pvp players have to rely on crutch weapons or abilities too much.

I would definitely be more interested in and possibly enjoy PvP if the radar and overshields were removed (at minimum the radar lol).

1 ReplyOnly reason I disagree is i just don't see destiny every being a real competitive game. The whole idea that makes destiny fun is the stupid OP space magic fantasy. Take that away and its really just a regular fps like the rest of the generic garbage out there. Just a personal oppinion.

That or they bring momentum back. I would like a game mode that relies on your gun skill and not ability usage, though I suppose that people would just run around with the cheesy shit. I could totally see Shaxx promoting the mode as a way to not rely on the Light or the Dark all the time. I dunno. I know that I could play CoD, but I really don't give a shit about the franchise. Bad games.

No. Destiny isn’t meant to be like that. This is why pvp players have issues with Stasis.

You'd think being the creators of halo, one of the first games for MLG, and partners with Activision, the owners of mlg, they would have an mlg mode if they wanted one. After 6 years without one, I'm guessing they don't want to go that route. Why not find a game that is already what you want? Instead of changing a game that doesn't want to be that.

Just make game modes perm. Momentum control is close to hardcore and i think works perfect. If they enable cross play but dont expand pvp modes im gonna lose what little respect i have for the company. Literally no reason a game with this many players has so few pvp game modes enabled.
