I know this is going to sound like Sunsetting talk but the truth is I do not think we can really curb stop certain enemy factions any more than we already have.
This mainly is related to the Vex and how we over the course of the franchise have dismantled KEY minds to the vex collective, the vex offensive failed, and the undying mind is dead, and with the loss of the infinite forest Id say they are on their last legs, this being the vault of glass and Quria blade transform, Now Bungie noted that the Vault of Glass was getting a facelift as well as some changes, but what if The vault returns as a taken raid with Quria as the final boss?
The reason for Quria being there is to be a catalyst to Take what remains of the vex collective, similar to what was seen on Io for the Man of War quest.
Perhaps after the defeat of Quria, The collective will truly crumble and thus truly defeating an enemy faction for good and then making room for something new.
However this logic can also be applied to the Eliksni and the Cabal as well as they are being set up as potential allies through the house of light and an uneasy alliance with the remnants of the cabal as they will be willing to work with us to fight the bigger threat, The hive and the darkness, and whatever race may be related to it.
This way when we eventually defeat Savathun and Xivu Arath in the coming months, there will really be nothing else left to really fight other than the manifestation of the Winnower and the Darkness.
We have been fighting the good fight against these guys for years, But the fight must eventually come to the end... and frankly, I am not the biggest fan of the vex and id happy to really see them beaten once and for all and to beat them where all their bs began? Oh, that would be SO satisfying.

We are actually the farthest from beating the vex once and for all. Their numbers and sheer power are incomparable to any other force in destiny, even the cabal empire and the hive. We have only ever seen 2 combat chassis from the vex; Panoptes and the Wyverns. The vex we have been fighting against are an infinitesimally minor fraction of the greater collective.

You need to watch some Mynameisbyf. He will explain why you are wrong.

Edited by Tamacountry: 1/9/2021 1:53:38 PMWe aren’t even close to beating the Vex, not by a long shot. I don’t even think it’s possible to beat them. It took us months to kill the Undying Mind and there’s 100’s of thousands more like him out there. We are but a bug on the windshield in comparison, they don’t even care about us right now. We’ve been dealing with mere miner/gardener class Vex all this time with them sending their first warrior class (Wyvern) in Beyond Light, we haven’t even begun to see their true forces. Scorn should be eradicated by now or at least on the verge on being destroyed. Fallen and dwindling more and more but they’re a resilient race and they’ll be around for ages. The Hive aren’t going anywhere either until we kill their gods. The Cabal I could see getting eliminated as the ones currently in our solar system are splinter groups for the most part. I don’t think the Cabal empire really care about us. Calus and his forces are here to stay though unless we decide to kill him (We won’t) or we agree to fight for him and help him to regain his status is the Empire in which he might leave for good at that point.

There’s a cutscene in the season of the Hunt trailer that shows Zavala, Osiris and two Cabal centurions watching a pyramid on a hologram. Mind you, these were Red Legion Cabal. I honestly think that we might be teaming up with the Cabal in the next season. -
1 ReplyThe Eliksni(Fallen) have been driven to the verge of Extinction by Guardians ,that’s why we are starting to see them take desperate measures like Eramis and her gang turning to Stasis. The younger Eliksni are starting to understand that they can’t survive has an enemy of the last city ,that’s why Mithrax created house light and it will get bigger now that Variks is helping him House Dusk and the remnants of House Salvation are the only enemy Fallen left ,and once we destroy them we may never fight Fallen again Then we can fight Hive,Taken,Vex with Eliksni Allies, and maybe the traveler will grant them the light again

2 RepliesWell Calus hinted in the Menagerie that we have been fighting what were considered farmers and engineers and they have yet to send real warriors

The vex can’t be beaten because we continually encounter them from different timelines. The hive are extremely numerous, as are the fallen. I would say the weakest factions are between the cabal and scorn right now, given their loss of key leadership. Maybe big daddy calus is out there vibin but who knows thatll be story for a later dlc maybe.

2 RepliesThe fallen are at max in 3 groups (salvation, light, and nomads like Spider) Hive are still at large but have really been breaking down to infighting Cabal have for most part abandoned the system or forming up with us (the hunt cutscene) Scorn and taken are just there, as long as fikrul and a taken master exist so will these factions Vex will probably be the endgame faction

1 ReplyConsidering that what we’ve been fighting up to this point aren’t considered military units by the vex. I’m going to assume that we’ve made less of a dent in their ranks than someone Smashing their face into concrete
