The lore is a story about the 'stormherd' told by a family in a bunker. The stormherd used a crook, which is a staff that shepherds use, to pull down lightning. The crook can be seen in the gun and more so in 'the old ways' ornament, so what is it? It's a crystal, maybe a piece of the Traveller?
The stormherd is a guardian as the story says that she was killed and resurrected. It describes her as a masked female wearing robes, so possibly a warlock. She also fought the raiders that had been pillaging the families village, so the story took place during the dark age, but this could also mean that the stormherd was an Iron Lord.

1 Replyi mean, i thought it was pretty obvious that it was a real old arc staff. like, one of the first risen whos light manifested permanently. i think there was something similar in the raiju's harness lore about an arc staff that remained after a risen died, but i could be wrong, memory on that one's a little foggy.

The cloudtrike is a crook. The story probably takes place during the dark ages, and it describes a story of a group of barbarians/warlords that frequently raid a village and take there food. Then a guardian came along a used a crook to harness arc energy to strike down these warlords. Eventually the warlords beat him, but they incite so many loses that raiding the village is too dangerous for them. The villagers start worshipping the crooks owner as a result.

7 RepliesNow this is a story all about how, My gun shoots lightning straight from the clouds, And I'd like to take a minute, Just sit right there, I'll tell you how i came back to life, straight from the dead. In the Dark Ages born and raised, On the battlefield where i spent most of my days. Chillin' out, hitting the max head count, I harness the power to take out the crowd. When a couple of pillagers who were up to no good, Started making trouble in my neighbourhood. I got shot in the face and then later respawned, It was my storm crow, that came along. I whistled at the pillagers and when they came near, I sent a lightning bolt, straight up their rears.

1 ReplyEdited by Bacon Wrapped: 1/2/2021 11:06:17 PMSome folks on Reddit thought the whole "Kellikin" thing meant it was a Fallen story, not on Earth. The mechanical bits of the gun look human made to me, but that doesn't mean the crook thing didn't belong to some Warlock-like Fallen. I'm skeptical, I'm thinking human. As far as we know there weren't paracausally endowed Fallen, at least not like Warlocks. At least not yet.

It’s a quite simple story of a pre-class warlock risen imbuing their (quite powerful) arc light into a staff or crystal and using it to defend her town from Raiders during the Dark Age. I don’t quite understand why it drops from Empire Hunts but sometime after that risen died, someone turned the crystal into a sniper rifle.

2 Repliesthats a good guess on who the stormherd is, but I know it is not a piece of the traveler as that crystalized crook looks more like lapis from the dreaming city(I dont know if it is lapis but im calling it that because its a blue crystal) which means she was most likely awoken, and since she uses arc and was said to pull down lightning, which reminds me of the animation of the start of the arc staff super. so she is an awoken huntress that uses a lapis crook as an arc staff. the iron lord stuff is kinda stretching it because the guardians who lived in a dark age village defended it anyway[usually]
