The only character that we know he could be straight is cayde and he isn’t even sure that he had a son
Also how comes that almost every main character is either gay bi or lesbian?
Yes I’m waiting for your comments about how homophobic I’m :/
Edit : this post has more content than the dlc and it’s for free please enjoy reading the comments
Edit 2 : man I’m still wondering how me asking for more or some straight characters is homophobic but okay i guess....

35 RepliesSpeaking as a straight guy, why do you care? It’s great to see gay/trans people represented in games, books and films, where the vast majority of characters are straight already. If it bothers you that much, then you need to get out more and address your close minded attitude. Anyway it’s just a game right?

16 RepliesEdited by TJ_Dot: 11/30/2020 10:34:56 PMMy only disappointment in the St./Osiris Reveal is that it felt detrimental to their "brothers in arms" relationship that I'd assume most thought what was going on. It trades off a lot of their bonding for just the typical romantic crush that is so done over. The original, breaking time to save your best friend, turned into a knight in distress plot. It's not even like Osiris saved him, we did. It's like Lord Farquad sending us to save Fionna. Shocking that they didn't have a connection. It's even sort of detrimental to Osiris's character as he's gone from the most cryptic and powerful Warlock alive, to a ridiculously foolish, ghostless, awkward girl writing poetry about her lover. (yeah, he's the feminine one in this, obviously.) Saint's done an okay job representing the character he's been imagined to be, but Osiris has just turned into a clown that somehow isn't already dead and is nothing without Mercury, Sagira, and his crush he wants to snuggle with. Marcus and Dom anyone? Imagine if something like this just came in from left field during Gears 3. Sorry if I offend anyone butthurt that I care about how characters are written cause I actually am invested in the story. It's definitely fair to say this wasn't done right. Devrim is better than this. And it's important to note too, it's one thing to try to start a relationship between them and make it corny and out of place, what's really bad about this is implying that it has always been the thing and shifting one character so far from who they were once perceived that it makes the whole thing lack the proper foothold it probably would have if it was already a thing. It actually makes less sense that Osiris is as awkward as he is. They should be muuuuch closer in proximity if they're really that close, not on opposite sides of the Tower.

Next all the transphobic people are going to be coming after Oryx because he is trans

4 RepliesEdited by Grays_KS27: 12/1/2020 11:14:06 AMI’ll just help everyone out by providing a list of Destiny’s straight relationships: Clovis Bray I and Lusia Clovis Bray II and Sylvie David Korosec and Morgan Savin and his wives Crota and Omnigul Alak-Hul and Verok Hiraks and In Anânh Xyor and her boy toy Saladin is hinted to have had a crush on Jolder. Drifter might have had a crush on Orin, and Orin seemed to be a couple with Namqi Sen. Maybe Shun Li and Ikora. I can’t remember what gender Shun Li is, but he/she will definitely win over Ikora eventually. There might be more I’ve forgotten.

4 RepliesIt's homophobic because you are asking the question... I know that's pretty hard to understand. I'm not even being sarcastic. Like any other sort of prejudice, if you question something, whether it be race, or sexual preference, gender identity, anything like that, then you are drawing attention to it. If you do that, you suggest that it isn't normal and is something be scrutinised. At the end of the day, it shouldn't matter. At all. If it does to you, then unfortunately for you, that is a form of prejudice, sorry. I saw a response on here that said they didn't like it because it kinda messes with the 'brothers in arms' aspect. I could argue that this particular angle, or at least the impression, is purely based on perspective (Saint and Osiris have always been written as gay apparently) but it is certainly a more understandable point of view than 'urgh, can't I just get some straight characters'.

there's more important things to moan about than this. how about the Bright Dust reduction being unfair on the players and Bungo lying saying we would earn the same as before

1 ReplyOddly enough, this post doesn’t violate Bungie’s Code of Conduct: Discussions of sensitive topics like politics and religion – outside the context of in-game story elements But Bungie breaks this rule all the time, so...

1 ReplyWho the hell care ? In the end we all know it's just to push some agenda and that's all. Also does it affect you or your character in the game. No, so don't worry about it.
Being around gays won't make you gay, it's okay.
8 Repliesthe gays always have to be included in everything..... nothing can be just straight and normal anymore. gays in every tv show, movie, game etc
-
1 Replyturns out, the Traveler was gay all along, and by association, you are now gay as well

I don't really care

6 RepliesWho do you think are gay and who do you think are straight characters in this game?
-
My opinion is who the F cares? But everyone here should ask yourself this. By saying he’s wrong for saying there’s no straight npc’s, would you be saying why is there no gay npc’s if everyone was straight? 🤯
-
Their game, their design, their story. You either can play it or you can abandon it. Not saying you’re a homophobe, just saying let your wallet do the talking.
-
Agreed, 70% of the main characters are gay

5 RepliesWhy does the sexuality of fictional characters bother you at all? And, as pointed out, within the population of Destiny, the percentages of LGBT to others is about accurate to real life. So basically you are asking, "Why are there so many gays in this video game world that I am playing?" Which, yes, is pretty homophobic. Learn to accept all types of people, you'll be better off.

1 ReplyEdited by CookieNiki: 11/30/2020 8:30:46 PMLOL, do you really think that's anything that matters at all in a game? That's what you've been taking from the game? The sexual orientations of NPC's? In a game where there's absolutely no romance and/or any kind of relationships? What a joke!

12 RepliesEdited by Swift: 12/1/2020 3:09:56 PM
how comes that almost every main character is either gay bi or lesbian?
**rubs head and pops an advil** Why does it matter to you at all? Within less than a week ago, 2 major characters that HAVE been gay since their inception - so going on 7 years - a dev confirmed this because he was shocked that people didn't get it. This isn't for you and you've clearly missed the point. This is for the people that want and need representation. This is for the kids or teens or even adults that may be struggling with a difficult time in their life and this is a step towards making it normalized so they are more comfortable and feel safe. Just like Black Panther or the really super cringe [cinematically speaking] all female avenger scene - this is for those who identify and can say hey "that could be me". Bungie made characters. Guess what, LGBQT people exist. They exist even in the destiny universe. Their orientation isn't even part of story. You're reacting almost as if they programmed a full blown make out cutscene. I, and others, play this game to shoot aliens and use space magic. Our npc's generally have no substance or character as is and we're going to complain about what they are attracted to? I'm pretty conservative as they come but I don't get how what people do in the bedroom is of concern to other people. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, you do you. /rant

Zavala seems to have a thing for Eris, and so does Drifter. Also, Shaxx is in love with Mara Sov. You also have Eva Levante, who had grandchildren, Clovis Bray had multiple children, Calus has a daughter, we actually do know that Cayde had a wife and son, Hive change their sex at times, so I won’t count Oryx, we don’t know for sure what gender Hawthorne prefers, since the only lore on that is about someone’s grandma wanting to set her up with her granddaughter, and that’s just off the top of my head.
