Honestly why are they even a thing. It takes way longer to get weapon telemetries than it does actual weapon materials and they give you far less reputation on top of that. Personally I think either the reputation you get from them needs to be heavily increased or give them a use similar to what it was in D1 where if you used one you would end up getting an xp buff depending on the weapon your using. because right now they're just plain useless.
-
10 RepliesNo doubt Beyond Light will usher in more unnecessary currencies, upgrade materials and other superfluous garbage. I preferred the D1 system that used XP to upgrade weapons and armour, instead of the shit show we have at present.
-
You just pissed off Mosquitor
-
I personally wouldn't say useless. I log on pop a telemetry consumable and then forget about them. Whenever I do a "cash in session" to try for some gun rolls they contribute. Truth told I'd rather they just drop more weapon parts instead but there's no harm in having weapon telemetries working at a 0.7 efficiency to assist.
-
Just change their use to purchase upgrade modules with those instead of planetary materials
-
That will be a ghost mod that no one will use

1 ReplyEdited by Emurinus: 10/1/2020 9:12:43 PMI never understood why they had to exist in the first place much less continue to. 1.) They have no purpose but building up Gunsmith reputation, which is exactly what gunsmith materials already does. And guess what Banshee rewards you if you don't like your weapon? More Gunsmith parts. Hell, Bungie had to increase Banshee's rankup to 100 weapon parts because of their sheer frequency, so hoarding hundreds of weapon telemetries just doesn't compare in the long run. 2.) They don't even drop naturally. You either need a ghost shell perk or use Pure Matterglass Lens --an equally useless consumable that you can't even delete from your inventory and can only burn 1 every 15s to get rid of them-- all for a chance for them to drop on precision/elemental kills.
-
At least they are more useful than ghost projections.
-
But are they more useless than empty tuna cans??
-
Nah, even mosquitos have a purpose in the world. Items in Destiny are in a class of their own, when it comes to being completely useless.
-
Edited by HawkkMoon99: 10/1/2020 10:23:19 PMBelieve it or not mosquitos are very important in their own manner :)
-
Hey they are an important food source for smaller creatures and an important part of the food system, they are a pain but still important. Oh wait weapon telemetries yeah those are useless. If they were at least equal in ranking the gunsmith as weapon parts they would be worth collecting.
-
Awe come on, mosquitos are the vampiric version of honey bees. What could be more wholesome than spreading so many blood-borne illnesses?
-
1 ReplyHey, mosquitoes have their uses. I like walking outside and having every limb of my body itch profusely for the next half hour. And when I don't feel like itching, I like wearing a hazmat suit outside in 110° humid heat.
-
Really useless
-
11 RepliesIt gives the same as materials. And they are really not that rare . I get about 20 per hour.
-
3 RepliesLeftovers from an abandoned game system.
-
Telemetries should be worth 2 weapon parts.
-
2 RepliesEdited by ~NaVy_$eAl~187: 10/1/2020 6:58:39 PMActually if mosquitos were eradicated. That would throw off the balance of life. 💁🏼

Weapon Telemetries should allow you to upgrade or customize weapons in some way. Even just allowing them to be used as currency to change the Element type on Legendary Energy and Power weapons would be fine. I don't really see a point in having them as rep materials for the Gunsmith when we already have Gunsmith Materials for that.

4 RepliesThey have a purpose. A very important purpose, albeit not immediately obvious. They are there to annoy your fireteam. They see that mini-pyramid drop and they don’t know what it is. They don’t know why it’s there. All they know is, they have to have it. And have it now. The curiosity always wins. ALWAYS. Then they get it. Chest deflates, they slump back in their MLG gaming chair, let out an audible sigh and cry a little. Just enough for a single tear to drop and whisper “g*dammit” into the mic

2 RepliesThe thing i really dont like about the consumables tab is that Bungie doesnt know the difference between a consumable and a crafting material. Crafting materials in the game should be shown separate from the consumables list. There should be a topline above the consumable list showing all the crafting materials, be it bright dust, planetary elements or cores in the same fashion as bright dust and silver is at the moment, only symbols: small and clear. Why would anyone ever be given the option to discard your cores? Its just stupid game design. The consumables list should only hold items that are consumed from that list.

4 RepliesJust another useless bloated material in luke Smith's game.
-
I don't use it.It's useless.
-
This ^^^ so many useless "consumables" in this game that serve so little purpose.
-
4 RepliesThe game in general is totally bloated with needless currencies. They really need to simplify things a little going forward, particularly for new light players.
