Fix Hit detection for supers on console

How many of you guys have popped spectral blades, Arc Strider, Sentinel, and fist of havoc, then spammed the melee only for it to not register? And then lost a round of trials or your whole super as a result of spam hitting someone whose sprinting and jumping. I’d genuinely like to know how many people have experienced it. Maybe if bungie sees how many people have suffered the affects of it they’ll fix it. Any devs at bungie, if you see this, I respectfully ask that we at least get an explanation as to why it is that we deal with this issue on console. And if it can be fixed. Thank you for your time if you read this.

  • Spectral suffers the worst, and dentinal too, but that super can through a tracing disc so it can do well, but spectral on console is trash

    • With supers, I found that the stormcaller is the most inconsistent one. For example yesterday, popped a super with three enemies near me and it didn't even so much as tickle them, at one point i was pretty much toe to toe with one of them and nada. With melee registration i found titan one to be very weird lately - eg; bottom tree striker with full melee energy and synthosepts on. Punched an enemy 3 times and they still had a slither of the health left. ヽ(´ー`)┌

      It's not just supers. I have two clips. One of me shooting a grenade launcher at a Hunter's foot and it doing zero damage and shooting wave splitter at a noob and him just completely avoiding all damage.

    • I was in a group of [b][i]FOUR[/i][/b] enemies trying to cap a zone and sentinel shield bash managed to miss every one of them [b][i]THREE[/i][/b] times.

      • This + blasting someone in the face with a shotty and it doing no damage + meleeing someone and it doing no damage + shooting someone with a shotgun the same time they shoot me with me one and me dying with them taking no damage

        • I've mainly experienced it while playing Sentinel Titan or Spectral Blades Hunter, it's the worst when you hit someone multiple times and it just doesn't register

          • Hell whenever I play sentinal I'll shield throw and it will go nowhere that I was pointing or when it does it ricochet off the wall and shoots straight up to the ceiling and is shit at tracking enemies.

            • You have to a tribute that to lag more than anything. The supers work as intended. But when your playing with someone on the other side of the planet well there tends to be a disconnect between your internet and there internet since bungie doesn’t have servers. The game is purely running on all the players internet with one being the host. This is why the pvp for destiny sucks. If your internet can’t handle trying to let someone on the other side of the planet play against you or with you then there is going to be latency in the game which will screw with hit registration among other issues. So in other words get about 20 million or so people to agree with you on telling bungie to get dedicated servers/regional servers or stop playing.

              • First off it's not just on console; Second and the answer, it's all due to peer to peer connection and outdated code.

              • It's just as bad on pc aswell. Hit detection is terrible with melee and supers.

                • Forgot Stormcaller and Dawnblade. I mean dawnblade at least does [i]some[/i] damage when it decided a direct hit shouldn’t kill, but when you only have 8 shots max, watching your sword do 40 damage really stings.

                    I tried to kill someone with arcstrider once and instead of hitting him 6 times in a row, i booped him of the map. Really hilarious, but it didnt count as a kill.

                  • on PC too... the reason its so bad is the same reason you melee kill someone and they melee kill you, you trade even tho you punched first its latency peer to peer 10 year old game engine crap.
