Just finished Goblin Slayer and the movie.
I'd say it was fairly entertaining.
Also, that is what people overreacted to?

They don’t seem to mind the gore. Which makes sense, as Goblin Slayer is not the most gory anime out there. Berserk has about the same amount of gore, and people don’t seem to find any problems with it. (Which is strange, seeing as it also has a r*pe scene.)

They hold back pretty much no punches when it comes to setting the goblins up as an evil race and from the very get go before we even meet GS himself, the Goblins have been shown as sadistic, murderous and brutal (which also contained the scene in question that was very controversial because people don’t like when sensitive topics get brought up). Something I like about it is that over time, we’ll probably only learn more and more about GS growing up through flashbacks. That’s how you flesh out a character and show how he became the man he is now without needing to change his dead end personality and make it feel weird. It doesn’t hurt to say the OP is incredible and perfectly matches it.
