  • I wouldn't mind 3 shards to masterwork, but only if all exotic armour pieces were element neutral; you can equip any mod and seasonal mods in any exotic.

    • It is offensive, particularly when exotics are elementally-aligned. I can't fathom why Bungie thinks the mw economy is in an acceptable state. You could cut the cost of masterworking armor across the board in half, and it would still be too expensive.

        Okay, I don't like the shard system, but Exotics are the least in need of a fix. When you masterwork them, they are masterworked forever. The legendary gear that's going to get masterworked only to get obsoleted is the problem. And it probably won't be obsoleted in a year, but instead in two seasons when there are new seasonal mods that you want to use.

        • It is quite painful to do since I only get shards from the season passes. I have enough prisms (because that’s all I get from nightfalls fml) to buy three shards to finally upgrade my Transversive Steps. But...I have such a trash stat roll on those things. Is it worth it? Probably not. But for the friggin life of me I CANNOT get them to drop from exotic engrams. The amount of exotic gauntlets and chest pieces I have gotten on my warlock is downright atrocious.

        • Considering how easy it's been to farm a lot of materials lately. Especially in conjunction with Spider I'm going to flatly say it's fine as it is.

          • Out of pure ignorance and curiosity, what exactly does masterworking armor do? I know weapons generate orbs of light, but what does armor do? Does it gain elemental resistance or a stat increase, like +4 intellect?

            • It's not that they cost 3 shards, but that most of the Exotic armors aren't worth masterworking. Considering you can only use one at a time, they need to be powered up/made more interesting.

              • Its ridiculous. The cost to masterwork armour is beyond a joke. Don't get us wrong I've master worked items from when Shadowkeep came out but I refuse to masterwork anything else due to the ridiculous resource cost of doing so.

              • With sunsetting now active, I've stopped farming high stat rolls on armor and I'm no longer mastwerworking anything.

                • Masterwork cores shouldn't have ever been changed to enhancement cores, and there never was a need to create the shards. Some say it's set up this way to make us think about what we're going to masterwork. IMO that's not true at all knowing 90% of the stats on gear that drop are crap with no way to improve them because how the system is set up. So overall there really isn't anything to think about because most gear that drops is either deleaded or just used to infuse items. The shards were just an unnecessary added grind.

                  It’s really messed up actually. With all the mods for builds build crafting is at an all time high. Except you can’t make those builds if you don’t have a plethora of shards. Factor in that half of our armor loudouts are going away with those mods I feel like Bungie is destroying this build economy and creativity for no other reason than to make us grind. If anything armor should not be sunset.

                • I hate that every upgrade is behind a resource block. I give up playing the game sometimes because when I’m out of enhancement cores or upgrade modules I don’t want to go out and grind the SAME BORING ACTIVITIES. I’ve been playing this game since 2014 and it is very annoying the way this games upgrade system works. Only people who stream or play 24/7 rack up 999+ of every material. Hell, if they put materials to buy in bulk in eververse so be it. But the current way of upgrading prevents enjoyment of the game because I’m worrying more about materials I have then actually enjoying the game. Like wtf. GET RID OF INFUSION MATERIALS AND MAKE IT FREE.

                      • I don't think them costing 3 is an issue if it's worth it but exotics are simply not worth masterworking, no seasonal mod slot, has the exact same stats a legendary does, exotics should have 15 points to play with not 10 an no seasonal mod.
