The new dungeon's weapons being only old gear is by far the laziest thing bungie has ever done.
This is less effort than a damn reskin.
The weapons don't even make sense in context with th lore(why didn't we get the old trials of the nine weapons????)
They couldn't even come up with a new name and slap a shader onto this stuff.
But it's free right?

So the dungeon is great, nice mechanic and nice atmosphere. I was super hyped until I realized all the loot is old stuff. What me triggered most is, that in EscalationProtocol you got a perfect rolled ikelos shotgun (which I own since two years and with masterwork and 8000+ kills). This heartpiece will be sunsetted and I can farm it again in the dungeon... this feels like a hard slap directly in my face. I'm so dissapointed, i wont play the dungeon again and canceled my pre-order. Sunsetting ok bungie, but then give us new weapons... Otherwise you could also just delete the guardians gear, for me its nearly the same... I hate how much time i spent grinding, it now feels completely useless....

I would have liked trials of the nine weapons to be in there instead of the ikelos weapons. I'm pretty sure we would generally agree with that.

Im more or less ok with it because we’ve never had random rolls on these weapons. Less insulting than the seasonal world pool being the same weapons with the same rolls just at updated gear cap

At least it got an exclusive armor set. The other dungeons just use the weapons and armor of their respective planets without much changing them at all, so on the bright side at least Bungie went through the effort to give us random rolled versions of old weapons.

I agree, just add the trials of the nine weapons into the dungeons loot pool, with new weapons or so, what also would be nice some shader of the nine or so, idc but to have other weapons in there is ruining the feel of that dungeon jesus, bungo

They should have loaded it with the old trials of the nine gear and weapons. Having the ikelos weapons drop in there makes zero sense, same with what was obviously going to be this seasons Eververse set.

The dungeon was still a great experience. Most, if not all, the gear reintroduced in the Dungeon was Year 1 loot. Before Armor 2.0 and random rolls. I know it sucks that it’s old loot instead of new loot, but I have personally been wanting Armor 2.0 versions of the Nine gear and random rolls/mod slot on these older weapons. I would agree that it’s lazy, but I’m not complaining.
