Why Vaulting is a bad thing? Well, answer, atleast for me, consists of some parts. Part 1. Some players payed for the content that is being removed. I understand that its being played less. Its harder to work. It uses space (even though its not that big of a problem on PC, tbh). I understand that. But still. I payed for Osiris and Rasputin campaign in a bundle with Forsaken dlc (yes, i got main game for free, lucky me) while game was still on Battle.net. Worth every bit of money, btw. Can i say same about Shadowkeep? Hmm, not really, not gonna lie, dlc itself is good, not as good as Forsaken, but still, good. The content, i mean, seasons, that come after, no, they are totally not worth it. The whole "you miss, well, go on youtube, watch cutscenes there, then" is actually dumb and im glad its gonna be kinda reworked. Part 2. Uhhm, Bungie? Hello? What about new players, f2p ones? Yeah, this ones. They are getting nothing. They install game and... what? Go in crucible? Strikes? Just without any story or anything? Without any Campaign? What are they gonna do? Because Red War is kind of a tutorial to the game. Base story, before you go to Raids, PVP, other PVE activities, you get to know characters, that are actually well written. I understand that some content will be back, for some time, but you probably wont bring whole story back, cause it takes many destinations at once. They all are behind giant paywall. And you know one thing? If old players leave, and new ones are not coming, because game is basically pay-2-play-2-win, what is going to happen? Yes, game is going to die. And f2ps are paywalled hard. Each campaign you have to buy. And, uh oh, Beyong Light has outrageous pricetag. Almost like whole AAA game, but its a DLC. Who, in sane mind, gonna download free game, play it, find out that to get to new PART of the game you have to pay almost full pricetag of any other AAA title that is actually a FULL game? Even in Russia with Regional Pricings its too much, i got No Man's Sky for less (yes it was a 50% discount, but still). Part 3. The future. Im gonna bet my eye on Bungie removing Forsaken when next major DLC comes in 2021. Similar is already happening, right here, right now. And the backlash is gonna be even bigger with that one, cause everyone who played Forsaken, had to pay. Part 4. The Law. Some say that Vaulting content might be illegal in some countries. Well, tbh, idk, never liked reading lawbooks. Its ok when game was totally free from the start, like one other Space-Ninja simulator, but many of players didnt get all that is being removed for free. Well, i guess thats it. I didnt even touch the whole "unstoppable-barrier-overloaded" enemies stuff, that overly stupid system to make, imho. Oh, and one more thing.
