This is literally a reverse age of triumph.

2 RepliesOr vice versa/hand-in-hand. Depends on what they decide they want to do with loot pools. They're sunsetting some activities anyway. That's been announced. We just don't know which ones, yet. Seems like they're trimming some things down to make room for others. I have no problem with that...as long as we get the others. Otherwise, it's going to be a long boring grind for not much of anything, much like this past season....or a short grind to deletion, depending on how bored we get with this.

Yes. Why would I do an activity if I can't even get usable gear?

1 ReplyPoll results are in: After 24 hours of polling Will sunsetting weapons and armor sunset their respective activities? Yes = 197 No = 21 Who cares, bring on the new content = 28 Total polls 246. Overwhelmingly... 81% of the community thinks that sunsetting armor and weapons will have a very negative impact on their respective arenas/activities. Good luck trying to find groups to run forges, menagerie and reckoning in season 12. Thank you for participating!

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 5/26/2020 7:05:39 PMIn a way, yes. There will be some older armor that I’d like to get to transmog into an ornament or however that’s going to work. That’s about it though.

If those activities continue to give out gear with the same max light as before, then yes definitely
-
Man I hope not I’ve only had three years of E.P. And I’m no it done yet!!!!
-
I do not think activities should be sunsetted, but i think they will.

6 RepliesMost of that content is already sunset, you're talking forge, menagerie and old stuff like that? They dont give you powerful gear....
-
How I understood it, the new engrams for the new gear will come as random drops in all the old activities as well as the new seasonal content. For people like me that enjoy running Menagerie and other "old" activities, it is a rare good thing. I usually run the Forge a couple of times each week as well because, well, why not. I am getting HC precision kills, Sword multi-kills, etc. as I do my other million daily/weekly bounties anyhow. Then there is the Seasonal (not bounties) Engrams that you can pay seasonal currencies to somewhat choose what gear you will get. We told them we like the more refined and specific pursuits. Its almost like they have been listening to what the community has said. Granted much of what was said has been ignored, but I digress. Based on other recent aspects of the game, I can only imagine that the cost to refine the engram's drop will be astronomical. Maybe 5000 Warblind Plarts or 250 Disgusted Warblind Flarts to choose a weapon type.

It does make reckoning, menagerie just to name two not worth hopping into at this point. Which is too bad.

They answered this in the twab

5 RepliesConsidering the vast majority of gear being sunsetted, is rarely used in actual endgame activities.. no. People just love to overreact
-
They can’t sunset pre SK activities. They are all tied to storyline missions. So the activities will give crap gear and not incentive playing them. Which is fine for veterans. Not so much for new players. Granted I see them banking on f2p EV sales for money, not dlc sales, so they don’t care.
-
For me, it’s a yes..., and no. I really enjoy the fundamental shooting of this game. So, if I decide to not buy the annual dlc, and since I’ve never bought the seasons, then the answer is no. As I’ll delete my gear, and rerun all the old stuff when I want a Destiny fix. Effectively playing this game as a “campaign” every six months or so, instead of a live services game. If I buy the annual, then the answer would be obviously yes, it would retire those activities.

4 RepliesDid they ever mention whats gonna happen to the thorn quest line? The quest requires you to use rose, are they are gonna need to exclude rose from the sunsetting, no?
-
here do this bounty in that activity ,which rewards gear that is obsolete.
-
Edited by TechnoKat: 5/25/2020 2:17:07 AMConsidering that BUNGiE will "keep old content relevant" by making new bounties that will require you to go back and play old content for new stuff because they can't make a 3 years of content to replace the game right now, I'm going to say that it won't be "sunset" in any form other than it will be irellevant until BUNGiE spins the wheel for an exotic bounty and lands on [insert anything from year 1 to 2.5 here].

Very unlikely they get updated, so yea

2 RepliesEdited by AubsTheBelieber: 5/24/2020 11:51:42 PMThis isn't even a question. Will Sunsetting be what? Good? Bad? Your question at this time is just "will sunsetting their respective activities?" You need to edit it to even make sense. If you are asking if Sunsetting will cause people not to play the said activity for that reward, actually ask that in a normal way.
