It automatically makes all loot I get less special knowing it will soon become useless.

11 RepliesPeople really are exaggerating sunsetting weapons/armour. What’s the lifespan? 3-4 seasons? That’s plenty of time for me to use a weapon or armour. What I would like to see return is element swapping for weapons, we still get mod components from dismantling weapons & armour but have no use for them. Day to day crucible I can still use my guns so it’s no big deal, it makes up for 30% of my playtime.

8 RepliesUse it for a year and move on. You're not married to it.

4 RepliesMartyrs Make (I think that’s what it’s called) is a perfect example of why this needs to happen. First ever grenade launcher that has a trail of fire on the ground. Should be interesting right? Interesting new weapon to try and find a cool use for. No one played with it. I know I didn’t. Why? Because why would I? I already had a perfect Militias Birthright, Mountaintop, Recluse, Python, etc, etc.....I had all these other top tier weapons, more than I could already use. There wasn’t any space for something new and interesting.

2 Repliesquit being such a f*cking child

I've lost incentive for loot knowing that none of it will be better than what I presently have.
-
2 RepliesWhat incentive theres no loot to chase as is all loot is mediocre now. I welcome a reason to need new guns/armor to go chase.

Edited by Thicc Malort: 5/18/2020 11:37:23 PMI lost interest a long time ago because of this feeling. They introduce [HOT NEW THING], theres a meta change, people cling to it and complain theres nothing else to use while also still using said [HOT NEW THING], it gets nerfed, more complaining leading into HUGE INTERNET FIGHT and then along comes [HOT NEW THING] again. This change just means more of the same and probbably rehashed content and nothing really that engaging.

1 ReplyEdited by Noble 6: 5/19/2020 12:54:36 AMIf I actually continue to play come September, then I have already decided that I will engage with the game very differently. I will mostly stop playing with 3 characters, as I have already trouble building 3 good AND fun loadouts now. No, I will just casually play with my main, and never EVER grind for a god-roll again. I'll get enough good rolls naturally over the seasons. Basically, my time with the game will be drastically reduced, and I'll -blam!-ing stop running in that hamster-wheel. Or, you know, mayble I'll just stop entirely if I start asking myself "What even IS the point anymore?" too much at some point.
-
The majority of weapons and armor were not made for actual use in the game... they were made to fill collection tabs and thats it.
-
5 RepliesWhy do you have 2 threads literally whining about the same thing?
-
Not really on my end. I like new stuff to try out. I was miffed at the armor; but I’ll get over it.
-
2 RepliesHey, remember when you couldn't use Fatebringer anymore? Man, that sucked, but the game pulled through. I think we need to consider this a bit better.
-
5 RepliesWhen you have the best weapons in class there's no incentive to grind for loot either, meaning everything you do is pointless anyways. Better to have something new once in a while than running the same 7-8 weapons for years?
-
Having the best weapons since Y2, I've already lost incentive to grind. Can't wait for sunsetting!
-
Not really. We get a whole year with it. I love the game play loop of the game and unique weapons will be great.
-
22 RepliesImagine thinking that sunsetting is bad

Edited by Major-Payne: 5/18/2020 9:23:59 PMHas anyone else lost the incentive to play because half the community refuses to move on or let this game change in anyway. This faux outrage is getting old real fast. Their is gonna be a lot of guardians with jungle rot on their a$$ from all this crying.
-
2 RepliesThis decision has sunset my drive to play activities, given that you play for loot. Streamers and video makers will have a field day since they can keep making “Top guns this season” videos constantly. Even though I got the shadowkeep digital deluxe pre ordered back after it was announced, I should play the last season for it but I just don’t feel the fun. Maybe this is the push I need to Play Destiny again instead of D2.
-
My loot will be both of those things until I stop playing..
-
I havent lost my incentive to chase loot at all, but I play Borderlands 3 which is a proper game sooooo........

1 ReplyNot just loot. If my weapons or armour are sunset, then there is no point in infusing them. If there is no point in infusing them, there is no point in grinding for materials (i.e. Glimmer, shards, planetary stuff, Enhancement Cores etc.). And given how little new content there is, we basically have zero reason to play anymore.
-
For sure. Was gonna start the grind for mountaintop but now.... dont really see the point.. sure, can still use it in crucible, but I havent been using it so far so dont feel it's worth the grind
-
4 Replies4 days and I haven’t attempted to play again. Broke a streak of almost 200 days. I don’t care that I did, tbh. You know why.
-
Edited by DownyKitten: 5/19/2020 12:03:33 AMYoure just going to go for the same rolls on the same archetypes. It's more annoying busywork because they cant be bothered to produce working content or balance the meta.

5 RepliesHonestly. Once season 11 drops, I’m ONLY grinding the story and then im going to stop playing again. I have No reason to have my time and energy invested into something which becomes obsolete when the expansion arrives in Fall. Which is basically 3-4 months away. Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for the expansion and that I will grind a lot bc it’s basically a new game. This isn’t anything new in the Destiny universe. Bungie always try’s to save this game bc there’s always issues with this game.
