Exploder shanks.
And.
Cursed thrall
What would you call those then if not for ingame/in lore mechanics.
English

how do alien devices and creatures relate to an archaic japanese term? the almighty is not an explosive loaded, human pilot guided missile. it's a massive super-weapon on a crash course. Kamikaze referred to a specifically bomb laden, airplane with a live human pilot. Some writer was trying to find something clever for Ana to say and they made an oops. Its just a word but it makes no sense in this context and its just a bit insensitive...
-
There were cabal on board when they plotted the crash course. And the superweapon on board is a giant nuke.
-
so they're essentially setting a crash course for the ship carrying a nuke. I just don't see how that makes it Kamikaze. Are they guided by a divine wind that ebbs from the emperor? last time I checked Calus was still in exile.
-
I still dont know why OP is so mad that ana said a word that originated from a typhoon which the japanese called kamikaze.
-
really? you gleaned they were "Mad" from this post? Have you even seen the posts on this forum?
-
Trolls dont get a say here.

lol ok

Neither of those have true sentience. I consider them explosive drones.
Neither of those have true sentience.
Not true, Cursed Thrall have the same amount of sentience as a normal Thrall. Only differences (other than the while exploding thing) are that a Cursed Thrall is in constant agony and can not become an Acolyte. Exploder Shanks on the other hand are just robots so you're right there.

Edited by Corrick II: 5/17/2020 11:50:31 PMI don’t know. I just find it hard to imagine a cursed thrall sitting down and thinking “why am I doing this? What are the physical and philosophical implications of my actions, and how do they align with my personal belief structure?” I mean, just look at the definition of the word thrall. That pretty much clears it up right there.

Yes but based on lore all members of the hive have sentience. They all desire to become stronger and know that they must kill to feed their worm. They all pray to their respective gods and/or superiors. A Cursed Thrall knows why it must explode and what it did to deserve the curse. It has desires and one of them is to explode. The only enemies that have questionable sentience are Shanks and Servitors based on how they behave and the fact that they are machines.

Gotta go read the lore again I guess.
-
And the almighty is a big hunk of steel. So basically the same.
-
Same as... a missile? Yes. If it were manned and piloted all the way to Earth, maybe the other, but it’s not so it isn’t. It’s just a big “object”. Might as well call an asteroid a “kamikaze”.
