Just looking to open up a discussion here. Not trying to offend anyone.
How is a rocket that literally can do a full loop around something AND have proximity detonation ok? I’ve played a ton of gambit and gambit prime recently and this thing is everywhere at the higher tiers. I get it balance is hard but this is just too much.
Edit: I guess everyone loves the perks so why not just make a heavy pickup for it only drop one rocket at a time?
Edit: my bad everyone. Forgot that bringing attention to things that are out of balance gets you flamed. Apparently people REALLY like using truth so enjoy it
Edit: (removed comment calling the gun a cancer.) “Git Gud”is not an argument when the gun is a crutch. And name calling just devalues any point you try to make.

10 RepliesEdited by TrevorRambo2: 5/9/2020 12:51:05 PMNot to be a toxic piece of shit, but I never see Truth when I play gambit. I even see more supers and snipers than anything else. Stop pushing for nerfs, we will not have any more cool guns left to use if you keep crying about everything. I still miss sleeper because of how nice that gun felt to charge and shoot, but I still can't bring myself to use a neutered gun. I feel like people just cry about anything that kills them oh my gosh.

1 ReplyDid you play d1? If the truth was ever nerfed it would be called the lie. D1 has horseshoes and grenades on random rolled guns. D2 has it on ONE exotic and you want it nerfed.
-
Well, a truth user can use it to kill a gaurdian and sacrifice boss damage. My counter..... Divinity.... Not calling you bad, just saying you should learn how to better combat weapons instead of complaining about them.
-
If you died to Truth, you will have died to sleeper, xeno, any linear fusion, any sniper, Jötunn, etc. Do you see the issue? The problem isn’t the gun, it’s you. Learn to play smart when someone invades instead of sitting in the open.

Truth, when it first appeared, was the rival to the fabled Jellyhorn. I remember using it in Crucible and watching with wonder as one of my missiles turning sharp left to take out a Warlock who decided to float off into the distance. The boomerang rocket trail was fantastic. At that time the launcher held 3 in the pipe. It should come as no surprise that Bungie at that time decided to nerf it to only carry 1 in the pipe. I think, though, that it related to its use in PVE and not PVP. When it reappeared in it's old set up I was pleased indeed. It's how it should be. It's not OP, it's a bloody rocket launcher that happens to have three aggressive guided nasties. Learn to counter it.

1 ReplyWhy dont you use it you baby ? Git gud 🤣

Truth ain't op. It's really not. It's just good.

YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH

3 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 5/10/2020 5:24:35 PMIf you were exposed enough to die to a rocket in Gambit, you were also going to die instantly to Xeno/snipers/1k in that same instance. It doesn't really matter. Nerfs won't make the game any more fun or interesting at this point.
That's the way it was in D1, now regarding it being top tier, think of this: Bungo nerfs the top heavy weapon choices (sleeper, queen breakers, etc) then there's a new paid dlc that broughts a heavy weapon that is the only rocket launcher in D2(at the moment it came in) that has more than 1 clip size, proximity detonation and doesn't require target lock-on and yet it tracks the intended target... Get it now? Hope your question had been explained.

I think it’s been nerfed to trash somehow

1 ReplyTruth will always be a problem as long as Trump is breathing. Permanent solutions are best.

Haha big rocket go vrrr boooom

20 RepliesI agree. The only heavy I use is Truth in Gambit. They should’ve left it in D1 to be honest. I’m not a good invader, but with armaments and Truth, it’s almost a guaranteed Army of One medal. I crutch the weapon and I will admit it’s broken. The only ones that don’t think it’s a problem are the ones that crutch it and aren’t willing to admit the ease of use.

6 RepliesProblem isn't Truth. Problem is Truth + the full invader set. This is made even worse by armament mods. The invader can tank a full headshot from a 90 RPM sniper if he has the set and like, 5 resilience. So even if you land your headshot, you die to Truth and trade at best. He's also locked the bank, so if there's any blockers there or motes on the field, good luck. And then he goes back in, potentially with killmonger, throws a grenade, and gets more heavy if he has armament mods. Or just good luck. I'd say every player should have a set amount of heavy per round for invading. Only invading. Once it's out, it's out. And buff the collector so they can't be seen by the invader if they have 15 motes or more and buff sentry to be able to have wallhacks the moment the invader appears. He should also be able to unlock the bank.

3 RepliesIf you invade in gambit and you pop super or use heavy you’re a trash player. Wiping an entire team with a sniper ain’t hard. You can definitely tell who the PVE players are when you play gambit.

How is a rocket that literally can do a full loop around something AND have proximity detonation ok?
Because its an exotic heavy weapon.
I’ve played a ton of gambit and gambit prime recently and this thing is everywhere at the higher tiers. I get it balance is hard but this is just too much.
The PvP in Gambit (Prime) **isn't supposed to be balanced**. Its based on the open-world PVP you get in many MMOs and RPGs. Not the PVP of arena shooters. Open-world PVP isn't a contest of shooting skill. Its a contest of BUILD-STRENGTH....and adaptability. Which means PVP in Gambit is alwasy going to be fought out with the fastest, most powerful killing method at that person's disposal. Invaders are looking to kill you quickly so that they can move on to the next victim. Defenders are looking to overcome the extra hit-points and overshield that an Invader has. So PvP is always going to be fought with fast-kiling special weapons, heavy weapons, and supers. By anyone who knows what they're doing and wants to win. Truth is FINE where it is in Gambit. 1. Its an exotic heavy weapon. Anyone using it has given up their exotic weapon slot AND their heavy weapon slot to use. 2. Rocket launchers are **just** about useless for boss damage in PVE. So anyone using it is sacrificing their effectiveness in PVE, to specialize in PVP. Which is a smart...and legitimate....build choice. 3. Truth can be managed by the skilled player. Know where the Invading spawn points are. Switch from PVE to PVP as soon as you hear the invasion alarm. Actively hunt and PUSH the invader. Master advancing under cover. Truth becomes liability in short to midrange fights. Its need to lock-on makes it a liability against close targets and fast-and-unpredictably moving targets. You'll win many fights against invaders using it if you get in close. You'll win many fights against defenders using it, if you master advancing under cover and avoiding detection since you dont' show up on their radiar. TLDR: Asking for anything to be "balanced" in Gambit's PVP goes against the identity of the game. If you want a balanced PVP experience, Lord Shaxx will be happy to see you in the Crucible. But The Drifter is about testing your ability to set up....and manage UNFAIR fights. That's how open-world PVP works....and why so many people find it tilting.

Edited by TarloDenn: 5/10/2020 4:43:31 PMThe irony here is visible from space 🙄 In D1 they nerfed it to 1 round with no reasoning. No one was bangin'on it or asking for a nerf.. then in D2, all rockets had only 1 in the tube (pre ambitious assassin) THEN release the hardest tracking, hardest hitting rocket with 3 in the tube.. And there is no counter. It is the most aggravating weapon to deal with in Gambit. Add to that, the hvy ammo perks & you have a team wipe every invade. I've seen games ruined cos that 1 weapon 🙄 It will remain untouched. Until it's an issue in Trials of course 😏 Edit - strange how Sleeper & Q'breaker got the spongy treatment.. yet Truth remains as is.. 🤣

Points at Brain.... It can’t be a problem if you don’t play Gambit! Or you can play gambit for the pinnacle but just not care about the outcome. It isn’t worth the heartache. Any game mode that has a “catch up” mechanic shouldn’t be taken seriously anyway.

He wants a nerf.

Truth needs a mag nerf.

Imagine playing Gambit or Gambit Prime

The problem isn’t Truth, as much as I hate to admit it. Gambit encourages easy kills from any range when you invade so heavy weapons will always be a problem. It’s not just Truth: weapons like Xenophage, 1K Voices, and Leviathan’s Breath are nearly just as annoying to go against and will inevitably replace Truth if it were to get nerfed. A better solution is just do something about heavy ammo in Gambit. Or just do something about Gambit in general that gamemode is literal hell.
