I have just recently transferred my PS4 account to steam. My brother did the same on his pc. At first, I got the error code ‘Chicken’ and immediately searched up all the possible fixes needed. After using the recommended fix of powering down my entire main router as well as clearing the download cache. This worked ok before the most recent update (guardian games etc.) when it stopped working completely. I have tried every fix recommended by bungie and any other google help page, but still nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game multiple times, and powering down the router and pc each time before running the game, and still I got ‘Chicken’. As well as this, I am aware that you may think that it is just a network issue and my connection is not strong enough to run the game; but no, my brother can run the game perfectly and has never encountered this error code. Also, I have a wired connection (Ethernet) which is again recommended by Bungie help. Please, someone from Bungie help explain this.
I have reason to believe that it may have been a problem between cross-saving my characters from PS4 to Steam. But, as I have read, I do not simply want to unlink and link my characters as you have to wait 90 days before relinking after unlinking. The reason I believe this is the problem is because I even got Stadia to check if it was just a problem with the character link and it ran fine on Stadia with no ‘chicken’ error codes. I even linked my PS4 characters to Stadia and I had no problem with ‘chicken’ error code.
Bungie please help with this problem between linking my PS4 and Steam characters, making me encounter the error code ‘Chicken’.
I encounter this problem just before the game would usually bring up the character select screen.
