This Wednesday, April 29, we’re planning to release Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.8.1.1. This patch will have fixes for bugs that have popped recently, and also has a quick tuning pass for a weapon that’s been shining a little too bright in the Crucible since Season of the Worthy began.
Hard Light, a name that may either strike fear or pure joy in your heart, will be the subject of today’s article. Here are some notes from the team on how this weapon will be tuned come tomorrow morning:
Dev Team: Hard Light has been at the forefront due to a combination of recent adjustments to improve its usability and the adjustments to Auto Rifles that came with patch 2.8.0.
Most of the adjustments coming on Wednesday are to address its usage for mouse and keyboard users since the ability to precisely aim regardless of range allows you to use the weapon at longer distances, on top of being able to use ricochets more effectively.
Although weapons like the Fighting Lion can also do what Hard Light does for indirect fire, they are generally less effective during a direct confrontation. Hard Light boasts a lot of great stats, and its impact grows with more players using it - eventually no cover is safe. As such, we’re reducing some of the aspects that allow for indirect fire and unexpected lethality in odd scenarios, while still retaining some of the bonuses to keep the flavor.
Hard Light
- Hard Light's damage falloff now floors at 0.7x (Auto Rifles use 0.5x standard).
- Split ricochet bonus damage between PvE and PvP.
-- PvE damage remains at 2.0x damage.
-- PvP damage is now 1.35x damage.
- Removed a hidden recoil adjustment that made the weapon more stable than intended.
Stay tuned to Bungie.net for official patch notes, and @BungieHelp on Twitter for updates on our release timeline.

1 ReplyMaybe add a "auto dismantle blue gear" button.......?

And there goes bungo again. Never will this change. Making an exotic spray all over the screen and nobody uses it. Making it how a exotic should feel and the majority uses it and specialy in trials that is a place for the cheaters and crybabies want it tho be nerfed and guess what bungo will listen. Great job. Which weapon is next!! What the hell nerf the whole blaming game.

It's the scrubs who pray and spray with it especially when they can't even see anyone in front of them who it made a problem. No gun (maybe power weapons) should reward you for shooting at nothing. Cough cough cough Revoker. Why bungie makes guns that reward you for failure is beyond me. I absolutely can't stand anyone who uses either and misses half their shots and feels the need to teabag and then message you with "get gud!"'

Im still not in on pc

1 Replyeveryone just downvote the thing

6 Repliescan i just say .... suros is still gonna be the meta in pvp now so yay
-
Doing gods work, thank you. Let the salt flow, crutch something else

Edited by MrHokey: 4/29/2020 4:57:49 PMGood. Only no skill meta muppets are complaining about this. No doubt you’ll all move on to suros or another auto and keep running around in your little squads team shooting because that’s the only way that you can play.

33 RepliesPeople in this forum are so insane I swear. If you guys like autos so much why don't you go use a 450 or 720? That's right, you won't, you'll pick another 600 because they're completely broken now. It's so funny seeing all these below-average players going wild over auto rifles because of how easy they are to use. The whole "yay I can finally get kills!" mentality is nauseating.

3 RepliesDMG please pass on to the team the Hawksaw and PDX -45 need a comeback. Currently there isn’t a Suros 450rpm pulse. On top of that Suros weapons are lacking altogether. There were several YR1 versions of autos that need random rolls, and what about the Suros Scout rifles from D1? The DIS-47 was amazing and the DIS-41 was solid as well. #makesurosgreatagain

2 RepliesEdited by Dante: 4/28/2020 8:09:18 PMhow about suros? and all 600s in general they overperform

I feel this is balance, in crucible witch i play literly 8hours or more a day there only a few weapons that stand out from the rest being, coldheart, prometheus or similiar weapon, hardlight/ autorifles in general, Shotguns, and finally sniper. Note: if only seen shotguns mainly on titan class for some reason and sniper on hunter. But against all rifles ricochet x2 damage is a problem anybody can get a kill with no actual skill; gettuing 3 shot by a autorifle that has ricochet rounds that bound more then twice is a serious evry aspect of op, especially with steady aim and accuracy its not like how handcannons have a very slow rate of fire plus HC player depend on precision kill a lot since its the only way to use the weapon effectivly. Im a pistol player because pistol are good even thou they lack in range but that there balance, there outclass by auto especially like hardlight at long range, lots of people uses hardlight and it has the benefits of evrysigle gun: Acuracy, Damage, Speed, Magazine, Statability, Ricochet more the twice with double damage, range plus its a auto as in more then 30 bullets per 5 secs when 3 are enough to get a kill, it must be fixed. ive seen people get killed by that thing when the battle just started.

15 RepliesPeople really out here defending a gun with 0.67s ttk (easy to achive, and next ttk is 0.73s) inssane bodyshot tkk (0.90s something) no recoil infinite range richochet with double damage but muh OP handcannons
-
Every time you moron developers at Bungie make a bounty so stupid such as “ do X Y Z during this specific activity “ it makes that particular activity garbage. You get guardians AFk and worse they aren’t focusing on objectives, only their bounties... Example, doing ignitions this week with matchmaking is abysmal. Those clueless guardians cannot do bounties and the objective at the same time. It is pathetic of them, and you should know this about your game Wake up ! Bunch of paid betas at bungie afraid of social justice warriors
-
Just disable exotics from pvp and make it default weapon loadout like halo then no nerfs are needed
-
4 RepliesOMG the people in here are hilarious. "iT's wAS tEh sTRemERs AgaiN!!!1111" Yeah, all the streamers created dozens of accounts on these forums the first couple of days of the season to complain about Hardlight. Mhm, sure. I guess I imagined all the threads and upvoted replies stating how OP the gun was and how so many people hated it. You can't put everything you don't like about the game on a small group of people. A ton of players disliked the gun, it had an insane pickrate, Bungie nerfs it. That's it, case closed. But I guess life is easier if you look for a scapegoat everytime something happens that bothers you.
-
...and tomorrow there'll be something else the pvp mob are in tears over and will whine incessantly until that's made worse somehow also. Ad infinitum.
-
2 RepliesWhen I try and join fireteams it starting to say you don’t have permission. Then it boots me to the start screen anybody know what this is
-
-blam!- yes! Finally.
-
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand Suros Regime gets the hammer next?
-
"hidden adjustments" Haha yeah right 😂 more like you didn't want to upset your streamers.
-
Everyone celebrating the nerf will be back in 1 day complaining about another gun. Just glad Bungie took a soft approach this time instead of destroying it. Changes should be subtle and not overly drastic. Also glad this only addresses the REAL offender.
-
Hard Light needed nerfing, but singling it out seems wrong. I probably wouldn't have done it without reeling in 600 autos in general. The Black Armory Galliard and the curated Gnawing Hunger will also melt your face off in seconds. I will have no complaints as long as the Season Pass is fixed and I can activate the Point Defense Systems in my Bunkers again.
-
Seeing all these bad players complaining that their crutch is being nerfed is the greatest sight! Its absurd to be able to completely spam a gun across the map and do double damage without having to do anything except miss.
-
Very nice, can we get an anti-champion mod slapped onto it as well. That would be very cool for anti-barrier.
