Please fix this issue, since it persists from the start, if you`re holding a sword melee skill is replaced with block icon, gambler`s dodge doesn`t recharge melee ability (because it`s possibly from another code layer) in sword stance after you switch to kinetic or energy weapons.
Also prevents Momentum Transfer and Dawnblade's Winged Sun perk from granting melee energy while holding a sword.

throw your throwing hammer then pick it up while holding a sword, you not gain your hammer back

Good looking out. Consider posting this in Help>Game Issues though as I think that has a higher chance of being acknowledged by Bungie as an in-game issue over the general D2 forum feedback.

2 RepliesBut will it charge your sword guard? Possibly more important for different preferences

6 RepliesStop crutching on the most OP ability in the game.

1 ReplyHolding a sword blocks ability to cast ward of dawn

Swap before dodging. It isn’t rocket science.

Big whoop. You can't use your melee while wielding a sword, anyway. Let them work on something really broken. SMDH. 🙄

1 ReplyYeah. Arc Web hasn't worked on my Warlock since the the tail end of season 8. Like at all. I used to use it to do grenade kill bounties. It was intermittently working midway through that season then one day it just stopped completely. I only ever came across a couple threads about it. Lol

2 RepliesAlso you can't place ward of dawn whilst wielding a sword, it just pops your shield super instead.
-
Change your weapon, boom problem solved.

Edited by Abyss: 4/28/2020 1:26:02 AMSimple because it would give hunters yet another advantage over the other two classes when it comes to class abilities. Also to put this in perspective the warlock and titans have stationary abilities, and while they may seem more powerful on paper, for example, good hunter snipers are able to pull off a lot of stupid bullshit with that dodge, like pushing a sniper lane shooting and dodging back into cover
-
2 RepliesUm, because it takes up the Melee spot. This was all explained before they did it.
-
3 RepliesGoing to make a post about this elsewhere, but you cannot activate Ward of Dawn if you have a heavy weapon out (in your hands). At least I hear that is the cause. I have gotten shafted so many times because I hold the buttons for a bubble, but the attack super happens instead. Only been haplening since Season of the Worthy. Broken stuff everywhere. Hope they buckle down and fix the core game one day. Better yet, while making a NEW ENGINE FROM SCRATCH for D3, hopefully they allow bigger fireteams, find a way to use dedicated servers, and build into the engine growth for 30 years since they never want to get a new engine up.

While swords are a melee attack, they are still a weapon. The ability clearly states melee ability.
-
The problem (unsurprisingly) is how Bungie has handled the guard meter. It replaces your melee ability with the guard meter so any form of melee regen is negated. If it wasn’t for Bungie’s long reputation of incompetence then I’d be surprised at this type of mistake but here we are again with yet another untested update that impacts the players negatively.

I was JUST about ready to say this; I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

Also if you throw your throwing hammer then pick it up while holding a sword, you not gain your hammer back

Edited by Zelrons: 4/27/2020 10:53:30 AMSwords override your melee ability. This prevents anything in the game which recovers melee energy from working (which is more than you think). While obviously much less prevelent I believe this issue has existed with supers for quite some time.

And enemies in forged don't burn with abilities
-
4 RepliesYou can’t cast Ward of Dawn while wielding a sword either.
-
Im pretty sure its not suppose to because when you're using the sword it uses that for its charge
-
2 RepliesThis same issue also prevents Momentum Transfer and Dawnblade's Winged Sun perk from granting melee energy while holding a sword.
-
Not an issue I think, swords take up your melee slot.
-
1 ReplyDoes it recharge your sword energy?
