Revert a few nerfs to Handheld Super Nova

HHSN got 4 nerfs after already being nerfed this season, along with contraverse hold. The nerfs were 1. HHSN now has less range 2. HHSN now deals self damage 3. The hold time for HHSN was reduced significantly 4. The charge time was doubled for HHSN 5. Contraverse hold no longer gives 140% damage reduction but 120% Was this really neccessary? I dont even know when to use hhsn anymore because its so bad

        • Bungie is like one step forward but only 2 steps back are involved. They improved the Super at expense of the neutral game. Shocker that despite the super buff people now want to use the class EVEN LESS given it’s one gimmick was killed.

          • Warlocks spammed it more then a titan would with shoulder charge it was basically impossible to counter unlike shoulder charge I’m sorry it got pummeled into the ground but it was strong and annoying

            • The charge time is to long or the hold time isnt long enough. Those are my only issues. You go to charge it and get wiped.. You charge it and go to strafe out and its gone. One or the other needs adjustment. I say charge time but that's just me. Everything else is gravey.

              • Hand held super nova is fine where it is. It’s really strong, just not as forgiving and can’t be spammed as easily like before. The reason you don’t really see it at all is because the super still sucks in pvp. It’s the worst roaming super.

                  Oddly enough just about every complaint I ever saw on the forums about HHSN were always due to Contraverse Holds. 1. They get it back too fast (CH) 2. They are invincible while charging it (CH) 3. It's took easy to get kills when they can just rush you and throw it. (CH) Funny enough Bungie can nearly kill an entire Warlock playstyle by nerfing an exotic 1 time but they can nerf OEM like 4 times and it's arguably still the best Titan exotic for PvP 🙃 And they can completely nuke Skull of Ahamkara after 1 nerf but nerf Shards of Galanor got hit like 3-4 times and it still gives you huge chunks of super and makes Mayhem Clash nigh unplayable. Heck they even hit Orphius Rigs like 3 times and it's still pretty damn good for add control... What the shit balls??? And what's bungies fascination with making Warlocks abilities do self harm all the time? Are you that eager to wipe us out of the game that you literally have to keep giving us abilities that make us kill ourselves??

                        It’s funny how bungie nerfed handheld and stormcaller since they were the most used subclasses, and now that voidwalker is used about zero percent, they’re gonna have to either buff it or fully admit that they are indeed biased against warlocks, something many of us have speculated for a while. IMO, handheld was severely underperforming and required you to completely give up your super or use the trash that is blink.

                          • They just need to remove the self damage. I used this thing for a few hours after it was nerfed and it’s completely unusable. I’d toss my handheld and it’s blow up in my face when nothing touched it.

                              shoulda just left handheld supernova alone and binned contraverse hold, in pve nezaracs and firepower mod basically gives you contraverse holds grenade regen while also regening ever other ability so the exotic is frankly redundant at this point. honestly cant say i ever cared for the damage resistance offered by it in pvp as it frankly wasnt necessary if you were using the skill in a smart manner.

                            • They need to remove self damage. The rest of the nerfs can stay, although they maybe could revert the nerf to Contraverse since you can't hold HHSN very long at all now.

                              • I wholeheartedly agree. There is literally no reason to use HHSN anymore. Nova Warp is already a below average super and HHSN was pretty much the only thing it had going for it

                                    • If they changed the hold time, charge time and self damage there shouldn't be an issue. Yes its really the only OHK ability Warlocks have but lets not make a case for it because no other class has a Stand There Shoot And Win ability like this one. Titans need to run and Throwing Knives need to knock you in the head. However NONE of these do self-damage. Keep the short range. Keep the tighter spread. Its meant to be a handheld shotgun? Well alright then.
