What do you think of the new expansion? It’s certainly an improvement in my opinion. It feels a lot more like a traditional Fallout experience to me now. But it makes me wish they had just made a straight up solo Fallout game to start with instead of the MMO thing we got.

Edited by Alt Loot Crate: 4/18/2020 8:59:40 AM... I'm liking it, I got my first ally in the first hour and she's super cool, after I finish this raider/settler business I'm gonna work on her quests...
not included in the DLC
I'm loving it so far. I expected this to be a disaster and it's still got that "New Game" smell though, so I'm gonna hold off on calling it hot shit for now.

I’m certainly enjoying it a lot more than the last time I played. It’s got the bones of a great Fallout game in there somewhere, unfortunately it’s held back by a whole bunch of annoying shit and bad design decisions. It’s a lot better than people say it is though.

Tbh I didn't mind the main story to begin with. One of my favorite things in these games is exploring the map and discovering little lore bits and stories, and 76 has a LOT of that. Lately I've been checking out all the cultist locations. They changed and added a lot of things. My biggest gripes are the food and drink, but even with my mutation that eats them up faster, my tiny garden at camp is enough to get me back to full. The weapon degradation is annoying, but manageable. Storage is just a straight up pain and the limit is obnoxious. Camp space is also far too limited. And I'm not a fan of the way enemies level to the highest leveled player nearby instead of just having set levels for parts of the world or for certain events. Also, -blam!- the atom shop. Still, game is actually a helluva lot of fun and I'd say its overall better than Fallout 4.

... I just eat corpses and chug whiskey...
not included in the DLC
I would agree with all of those points except the final one. I prefer Fallout 4.

I like it. I’m more focused on completing the tadpole quest now, but after that, I’m on to the main questline. Also, we finally get to see human NPCs, and use special checks. Definitely worth returning for in my opinion.

Yes I’ve been playing it a little since the update. Haven’t got very far with the new quests though. It’s a real improvement. There’s still a lot of small things with the game that annoy me though. There’s lots of small annoyances that ruin the experience for me. But overall I’m enjoying it so far.

Do you know how to take out floaters? They’ve been giving me the most trouble since the update.

Those things are annoying. I’ve just run away because they were much higher level than me. I’m only level 30 as I quit the game before I got too far last time. Which is one of the things I can’t stand about the game. There‘s no “recommended levels” for quests. So when I start a quest I have no idea if it’s something I should be attempting or not. So I’ll go to the location of the quest marker and get utterly destroyed by enemies 20 levels above me. Am I supposed to be doing those quests or should I be waiting? I have no idea. Most MMO’s will tell you what level you should be for a quest.

The thing is, there’s a place I have to go to that has about 7 of them. I think you might be able to avoid them by not stepping on their tentacles while their burrowed.

... No they just fucking attack you, I'd just throw some power armor on...
not included in the DLC
Just be aware that when doing the quest that gets you in touch with the raiders, you’ll have to either fight or sneak past several of them.

... I already did that part, it was kind of a pain but not really...
not included in the DLC
