What's the point of a power level above 1025 now?
Is there any activity that benefits from power levels above 1025? Or is xp grinding after 1025 pointless now?
Capping grandmaster nightfall power to 1025 when someone has already reached 1055 power level is a slap to their face. I was expecting power level to be as-is in the grandmaster nightfall, but [b][i]telling us this late[/i][/b] that you're capping power to 1025.... wow, I feel backstabbed after grinding my characters to 1035 (I planned to reach 1045 by grandmaster release, but what's the point now???).
[b]EDIT: A power level of 1030 (for master nightfalls) is actually the useful power level cap.[/b]
My main point here is that Bungie should have communicated this to us along with the grandmaster announcement before people started grinding levels like crazy.
Just to clear up assumptions, I have NOT done any moon repeatable bounty this season. I find that to be boring. Instead, I just do the daily bounties on each destination that doesn't have bugged bounties (tangled shore doesn't award xp even though it's stated in bounty rewards - bungo pls fix). They usually take around 4 hours to complete, and I stop doing them if it takes more than 6 hours. I still have plenty of time to do pinnacle activities and have fun. And yes, I do have a life. However, I know there are people that just farm moon repeatables, [u]but I don't see a reason why I should disrespect them for their decision.[/u] There's no reason for you to disrespect others for how they play the game, either. Please be civil.

and now, after having beaten all of the gm‘s and having been capped at 1025 for the majority of those, bungie opens all gm‘s to everyone and suddenly just allows a level advantage beyond 1025? bungie just doesn’t care about people’s accomplishments or time invested, they do an increasingly sloppy job of everything they do, don’t stay true to their word and change the rules as they go.

What's the point of a power level at all? Even if you were to exceed the power of a master NF by 30 levels you'll still be cooked in a second because of artificial damage inflation from the enemies. It's why before the bug, whisper enemies still hit like a truck at any LL. System is super flawed.

There isn't one. With GM nightfall capping at 1025 and all "pinnacle" PvP activities no longer allowing artifact, there is zero purpose to go past 1025

No point really. Light advantage caps when you are 20 light above the activity (1020 for legend nf/hunt, 1050 for master nf/hunt). But since 1025 is the light cap for gm, there is no reason whatsoever to go higher unless you think a small dmg/health bonus on master difficulty is worth it.

Plus once new season resets we go back down too 900 so grind again for what 2 weeks maybe at that level. Then next season reset again, the carrot is strong in this grind. :/

There has been no reason for power level ever. Why bother with grandmaster when the next season will increase your light level anyways.

Read your last part. You spend 4 hours a day doing bounties. The same bounties, on the same planets, against the same enemies we’ve had for years now. I was the same way. Top 2% when I checked at the start of the season. I didn’t buy this season and have a few hours total playing it. Take a step back and you’ll see how ridiculous this game is now.

1 ReplyThere is no point in power at all. Stupid to even have power in this game. All it is, is a way to keep you from playing a certain activity. That's it. All the enemies feel pretty much the same. I can go play a strike at level 5 and that same strike feels the same at 1000. GG bungie! Wish they'd remove power completely and give armor better stats. For instance, you can build any armor like we do now. But lets say a raid has an armor set called "speed demon". You collect that armor set, you get a +20 to mobility or +40 so you legit feel faster. It would give us a reason to play activities I think.

There is no point to anything. Do you think with the state of the game and bugs there is any forethought in develooment. It's more like: throw it at the wall see what works...maybe if we have time we can work it out later. Heres a new emote for the cash shop!!
