i cant log in on my cherecyers i get watercress error abd newt
I am unable to launch Destiny 2 and continue to get "watercress" errors for ALL my characters.
When I try to launch the game it seems fine up to when I choose a character. Destiny 2 then just goes to a BLACK screen and eventually (about 5 minutes later) goes to the Error Code: watercress popup message. When I click <OK> and try again, the game hangs at the "Connecting" step. I then have to kill the game completely to try again and get the same results every time.
NOTE: I am able to load and play my daughter's account with no issues. The only difference from my account and my daughter's is that I have the the Season Pass content. I am also able to load and play my Destiny 2 account on my PC (through Steam) with no issues whatsoever. But I don't have the Annual Pass on the PC either so I can not play all the content there.
Also... I had one of my clan mates (who lives in another state) load my account on his XBOX and he gets the same error on my account. (FYI: his account loads with no issues)
This really proves it IS NOT a network issue and is definitely an account issue on Bungie's side.
- I have already lost out on all the pinnacle items last week.
Here is my setup:
- Xbox One X
- Wired Connection
- Network is completely OPEN (No firewall rules)
Here is what I have tried/checked to resolve the issue (with nothing fixing the problem)
- Tried rebooting the Router, Modem and XBOX
- Made sure no other devices were using the network
- Validated NAT type was OPEN
- Validated I have NO latency and NO packet loss
- Validated that Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is already enabled
- Validated that IPV6 is already enabled
- I have tried resetting my MAC under network settings
- Tried un-installing the game and re-installing
- Tried resetting the Modem and Router back to the factory defaults
- Tried resetting the XBOX back to the factory defaults and re-installing only the Destiny 2 game
- I validated that other games on XBOX Live work with no issues.
- I validated that there are no other network issues with any other device or application
Please help find a fix for this.

I have exactly the same problem as darkside since Thursday and have followed the same procedures as him in trying to resolve this I have also asked my internet provider for advice who kindly replaced my router (which did not need replacing) but to no avail This whole episode has left me very deflated as i have been playing destiny from the very beginning (6 years +) The game has had many problems over this time but this is by far the worse it has been... The issues would appear to be heightened when a new dlc is introduced and unfortunately the response to them is at best is very poor It is a real shame that the perception is the YouTuber’s and fanboys seem to have the ears of the hierarchy at Bungie whereas the casual playing minions like myself matter not with regards to resolving the many problems that exist Might i suggest that you forget about adding new content and concentrate on making destiny the enjoyable experience we have always wished for it to be by fixing all other issues that plagued the game from the beginning.

9 RepliesUnfortunately, there is no current fix. Bungie are aware and investigating. Bump for visibility, thanks to your diligence with data. If others come across this post, try and do the same, to help solve the matter faster.

We are a crap ton of players with the same issue. I hope that the people at Bungie are putting more effort into resolving this than whatever loot drop issues in Trials. Not geting a loot drop sucks, not being able to load the game at all sucks 100 times more.

Unfortunately, the only current resolution is to play your account on another platform with Cross Save.
