It would be really nice to have this banner moved to somewhere else, like the bottom of the screen similarly to where milestones pop up. Or maybe the top of the screen or... somewhere that doesn't obscure my entire screen when I come out of a crucible match and I'm trying to look at stuff in my inventory. Or maybe even just remove it entirely from valor and infamy and have it only for Glory rankups.
-
Still surprised this hasn't been changed yet considering Challenge completions and Triumph completions are at the bottom of the screen.
-
I know right, having to occasionally wait 5 seconds at the end of a match is so massively inconvenient....
-
I totally agree. That’s been driving me crazy in Iron Banner lately.
-
Edited by Night_Fury147: 3/28/2020 5:25:12 PMThis accurately explains it.
-
Without the Banner, how are you supposed to know you're playing a mobile gacha game...?
-
It's almost condescending, like a toddler learning to poop... yayyy buddy you go potty good for you!! I don't need a massive banner to tell me I ranked up valor. Just a small banner on the bottom of the screen like triumph notifications will be fine thanks.
-
I've been saying it should be at the bottom left corner of the screen for ever. Bungie will never listen because they don't care.
-
15 RepliesIt's not a social justice issue so it won't be fixed any time soon
-
I hate these banners more than I hate Iron Banner. In the middle of changing gear “BY THE WAY YOU RANKED UP IDFC WHAT YOU’RE DOING LOOK AT THIS BIG ASS BANNER”. Just drop it to the bottom. Just not dead in the middle of my screen.
-
Bungie Get your Rank up Banner Off my Screen
Or just GET OFF MY SCREEN!!!!
-
I'll post this next week- who has the week after?
-
It's just another example of something that no one who actually plays the game for real would have put THERE...
-
Seriously! Get this -blam!-ing banner off my screen! Pops up like I just achieved something amazing when in reality I did nothing but play the game and get jack shit to show for it. Oh wow! A shitty under lvled legendary! Yay I feel rewarded. -blam!- you Luke!

6 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 3/27/2020 6:35:17 AMIt shouldn’t have ever been a thing in the first place (Remember D2 was created by Devs, alongside psychologists/marketing/PR) It could have just been a notification on the director screen/in orbit/social space (Never During actual game time in PvP/Strikes/Raids etc) But no, it’s this big “you got a reward/well done” banner across the screen Bungie’s attempt to cajole & validate the time spent & rewarding in small “keep going” packages! Then the Pavlovian Cues The dopamine system is especially sensitive to "cues" that a reward is coming. If there is a small, specific cue that signifies that something is going to happen, that sets off our dopamine system. So when there is a sound when a text message or email arrives, or a visual cue, that enhances the addictive effect. But of course, like that red alert/ping on every notification ...it’s there to keep you in a certain ‘Loop’ [b]The Dopamine Loop[\b] It's easy to get in a dopamine-induced loop. Dopamine starts you seeking, then you get rewarded for the seeking, which makes you seek more. It becomes harder and harder to stop looking at email, stop texting, or stop checking your cell phone to see if you have a message or a new text. [b]More, More, More[\b] Interestingly, brain scan research shows that the brain has more activity when people are anticipating a reward than getting one. Although wanting and liking are related, research also shows that the dopamine system doesn't have satiety built in. It is possible for the dopamine system to keep saying "more more more," causing you to keep seeking... Hence the way that Gaming companies are using psychology to keep people “hunting/gathering/searching” This is the Grind Factor (in many games) How to break this Dopamine Loop? Turn Off the Cues One of the most important things you can do to prevent or stop a dopamine loop and be more productive is to turn off the cues. Adjust the settings on your cellphone and on your laptop, desktop, or tablet so that you don't receive the automatic notifications. Automatic notifications are touted as wonderful features of hardware, software, and apps. But they are actually causing you to be like a rat in a cage. If you want to get work done, you need to turn off as many auditory and visual cues as possible. It's the best way to prevent and break the dopamine loops. Now, try find the setting that allows you to turn OFF these ‘reward banners’ in Destiny 2?

I'm sorry, but with all the issues with this game, why is this your priority on being fixed? It's honestly irrelevant and not even an issue.
-
Yeah it blocks the screen for too long and often seems to trigger twice in quick succession. For me, it blocks the screen at the exact time you want to dismantle "rewards" from last match, infuse or maybe change loadout. Annoying, not in any way pleasing
-
Yeah, they're gonna get right on making it easier for you to go look at your inventory rather than waiting a few seconds in the middle of a global pandemic.
-
It’s the only way I’ll notice it.. I completely overlook the other ones
-
Just have it at the bottom like everything else, while they are at it do the same with the seasonal leveling up as well.
-
If you could only have one or the other, which would you choose The rank up banner blocking your screen during game play or Faster travel time to the tower
-
This has been requested before, but they just ignore it, because ranking up is such an achievement, that they must bring it to your attention, in order for you to feel great about accomplishing something.

13 RepliesWelcome to the stupid list for pissing off players. 1) rank up screens blocking your view in combat 2) rank up screens blocking your inventory or quests With no way to skip 3) Blabbering fools in the Tower with repeated dialog and no way to silence it ( I’m talking to you - Tess Everet) 4) insane quest menus that take forever to find things 5) blocking stuff on screen when you try to see quest progress 6) insane load times 7) RNG designed by masterbating monkeys that always gives you the item you DONT need. And the beat goes on
-
Kidding me?? They've gone the exact opposite direction with all the ridiculous PSA subscreens during loadin.

1 ReplyThink of all the little things that changed in the last season that no one asked for....... Well people have been asking for that to be removed for years and bungie decided you need changes that you don't ask for first.
-
Edited by Lull9: 3/27/2020 7:25:46 AMJust another EZ quality of life change that has been asked for repeatedly and will sit untouched in their backlog forever.

3 RepliesWe have been asking for this for since Destiny 2 dropped. Bungle is not listening...
