I just got 3 Pinnacle chest pieces in a row
Took me like 1-2 hours to do Pit of Heresy, a 100k Nightfall and Master Nightmare Hunt. Some of that stuff is hard right now, and that's cool. What isn't cool however is that after FIVE YEARS you still haven't gotten your RNG systems right. With such a limited pool of pinnacle gear, getting 3 drops in the same slot should never happen.
I know I might get an answer similar to "This is being looked into and the pinnacle drop pools are being increased." but this has been a problem for years. There STILL isn't RNG protection for raid exotics, and Tarrabah STILL drops at 5 %. You people need to really, REALLY have a serious conversation about stretching gameplay out with terrible drop-systems like this. You need to change your fundamental design philosophy in this regard, not adjust 1 or 2 things here and there.
This isn't fun or engaging, and pushes me away from the game instead of keeping me playing. It's just straight up bad game design.

I did hollowed lair 104 times, got 14 mindbenders. 5 of the same roll. I didnt even get the roll I wanted.

I ran PoH 2 weeks in a row, got 1002 helmet both runs.

Bungie understand that the only people that consistently play now are the people that are chasing max level and once they get there they lose interest. If they removed the weekly progression cap the game would be dead by week three of the season. RNG is not broken, this is how it works. I will say Bungie seems to have weighted it to give you what you already have since it happens way too often. All part of the plan to keep you on the hamster wheel. Best to just knock out the pinnacle activities and move on for the week.

1 ReplyYesterday I got prime engram to decoded to my special weapon slot which was already the highest LL at that time. So no gain in my total LL. Kinda pissed off. Then..I walked to Howthorne. 2 clan engrams were available. Guess what? All decoded to specials weapons...with lower LL than currently equipped!! Total pissed off..I throw the controller and turned off the game. I swear that will never buy any DLC. Anyway..my experience still far less painful than yours. You spend and waste alot of time just to get worthless drops. Bungie totally like to disrespect and disregard players time. Thats why their customers always angry and nasty here. Those nerfs and stupid RNG are making people angry because their works get wasted.

It’s the D2 version of smart loot. It’s designed to inspect your gear and heavily weighted NOT to drop what you need.

Edited by Dirty8Speciall: 3/21/2020 3:41:24 PMI thought there was a discussion about how they were going to improve that, and add more sources of Pinnacle gear (I think the three main weekly bounty vendors were going to become Pinnacle and the clan engram). Or was that just my subconscious hoping for something better? Edit: I found an article that says that's mid season, sometime in April probably and it's the clan challenge not the basic engram.

lol how do you think i feel, every single one of my pinnacles except for one was energy weapon, but i guess lunas, recluse, divinity, my sniper, my sidearm, and hardlight all got upgraded so it's whatever

2 RepliesThen stop playing the game. It’s RNG; sometimes it’s goes the way you want, sometimes not at both extremes. It happens. It’s also week TWO of a 12 week season. Chill out. Banner is next week with 4 more pinnacle drops, bringing the total that week to like 13. It will all be ok.
