Stolen Account

Dear Dev Team, This is an issue regarding the cross-save when destiny 2 moved from battle.net to steam. My battle net was hacked a while ago, however I have only just recently received my account back via help from blizzard. I want to play Destiny 2 now however it is linked to another steam account, most likely the person who stole it from me's account. I went onto the website to try and link the account to my steam so I can play destiny however I cannot as it is already linked. There is no un-link option and it says if I remove the cross save entirely then I will not be able to re-link for 90 days. I am more than happy to provide proof of ownership of both my steam account and the account which is current linked to someone else's steam account. The steam account it is currently linked to is: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198283216728 This account is either whoever the hacker may have sold it to or the hackers account. My account name on steam is: https://steamcommunity.com/id/GandyDesigns/ which is the account I would like to link the battlenet account to. The battle net accounts battletag is: ĿǾŊĔĿŶ#2904 I will gladly provide screenshots with proof of all of this along with my legal ID however I would much rather DM it to a moderator, email, live chat ect. Something more secure than putting my confidential details onto a public forum for the world to see. Thank you very much for your help and I appreciate that this is a very busy time. I wish you guys all the best and to stay safe!

  • While it is unfortunate that this happened to you, and obviously not something anyone would want to have happen to their accounts, there is nothing that can be done. The entire reason that there was a spike in Battle.net accounts being hacked for a time, was so that accounts could be linked to Steam accounts, and therefore never recovered by the original owner. Hacker types saw an opportunity, and took advantage of it. Some keeping the account data for themselves, others selling the accounts. Due to the agreements made between Bungie, Blizzard, and Steam, once an account was linked and the data migrated, it is permanent. There is no way for any of the companies involved to reverse, reset, re-do, or recover the transferred information. If Bungie could offer that service, they would surely have done so already, to save themselves and their players from these frustrations. Bungie staff may or not respond to you here. Given that you’ve already been given the same information that they would impart, it is less likely. Sorry that this is not what you want to hear, but it sadly is the truth of the situation.

  • Unfortunately, the pc move process can only be done once and cannot be undone.
