I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but fireteams that use it and just spray through doors and hallways just piss me the -blam!- off!
Here’s my proposed NERF:
Reduce the mag from 49 down to 30, this way they’ll have to reload sooner and can’t just spray it all the time.
4 RepliesHere is my counter argument. No. Why? Hardlight isn't OP. 100 AA doesn't mean spit outside of 25 to 30 meters. My past few matches these past few days have been the same of cannons with shotguns and I have seen Suros used way more than Hardlight. If some one is spraying with hardlight expecting to get ricochet kills then they are idiots and are easy pickings and are only using hardlight cause they just heard "op weapon". These are the same people who follow youtubers/streamers every single day and use what ever loadout those youtubers/streamers make a video about. Finally a old reason. This reason was used all the way back in Y1 of D2 with Vigilance Wing and Gravaton Lance. It is a exotic it is suppose to be OP.

8 RepliesIt will get nerfed Judy like everything else that was meta. Just be patient

1 ReplyU know if u do that, it will be nerfed in pve too!! I've been waiting over 4 years for the hardlight to be good, and now because of PvP they're gonna nerf it??

Weny flawless twice tonight and at least 85% of the players were using it ad I did just fine with Monte/Summoner. That is in a 3v3 situation though and not a 6v6.

If your a hunter load up top tree gunslinger with last word and reload dodge. Warlocks run daybreak top or bottom tree or stormcaller top or bottom tree with a hand cannon or smg. Titans...idk I haven’t played a titan since forsakens launch

I think the gun is fine, I would just remove its ability to have no falloff damage and thats it.

3 RepliesAlthough your tweaks sound good I have a some suggestions of my own. 1.) Remove double damage from rounds that ricochet into players and instead replace it with a perk that temporarily increases damage against enemies with matching shield types (would only work in pve). 2.) Do away with no range falloff on the gun to discourage long range use of unloading mags into walls, halls, corners or etcetera. 3.) Get rid of ricochet rounds and replace it with a new perk entirely. 4.) Like you said reduce mag size or imo, decrease reload speed and handling. Imo preferably everything here on number 4. It's like fighting an smg that can hit you around corners. Most teams in trials just spam Hardlight in your general direction to deny a rez. while their teammates rush you. Either way something has to be changed on Hardlight because it has the "ease of use" factor and generally bypasses most of the limitations on other autorifles. Like high stability and technically unlimited range. In other words it's not overpowered, its overused, abused, and stupid easy to use. Very forgiving essentially. Realistically I would settle for one or two of these options but your suggestion isn't a bad one either.

9 RepliesWhy did it ever have no damage falloff?

3 RepliesThe auto meta is LAME. Revert hand cannon nerf, buff scouts (lightly) one special ammo on respawn and we’re in business! The fusion nerf was necessary.

7 RepliesHere we go again 😂 Then it will be something else you'll be crying about. Then something else and then something else. Perhaps try tiddly winks or viva pinata 👍

Those hard light users have been meeting my last word erentil load out in comp. Needless to say I have an inbox of messages to read.
-
If hard light gets nerfed then ppl will just start using suros. They nerf suros ppl will just start using legendaries like valkyden, stealfeather, gnawing hunger etc. honestly the legendary 600 and 720 rpm autos are even better than hardlight and suros if you have the right rolls on them. So what, you want Bungie to roll back the almost insignificant buff they just gave to all autos? I'll say this at least, I'm glad all you nerf herder cry babies have shut up about backup plan high impact fusions, at least for now because there was nothing wrong with those either.

3 RepliesIt’s the new laziest way to play. But I’m just convinced that no matter what, people will always discover and use the laziest possible loadout. I’m all for altering Hardlight in a reasonable fashion, but until then just equip it and use it against those players if need be. We know it’s gonna be a while before any potential changes go through. Yesterday I encountered a hard light/mountain top user, whose strategy was to fire mountain top around corners to get some blast damage then follow up with a blind spray of hardlgjt ricochet to try and finish people with the double damage. Unbelievable the lengths some people will go to, just to avoid actually having to aim.
