I purchased Destiny The Taken King Legendary Edition for the PS4 from an Amazon retailer in February of 2020. Within the case were flyers with activation codes for a weapon pack, the taken king, and expansion I and II. However, they expired on Sept. 15, 2016. What is the proper recourse here?
I can not return the item since I already began playing it before attempting to activate the codes. Aside from the fact that I am overseas with an armed forces address, making returning the item cumbersome, expensive, and ultimately not worth it. The retailer did offer me a 30% discount, but that does not cover the cost of buying the expansions via the PS Store. But really I'm just appalled this is a legal business practice.
The case is clearly marked as "Destiny The Taken King Legendary Edition" with no disclaimer regarding expiration.

8 RepliesAmazon sold you a defective product since the codes are expired. All physical copies will contain expired codes. You will need to return it to Amazon for a refund. Your only option for purchasing will be digitally from your console.

1 ReplySorry but all Destiny codes have long since expired. You can still try and get a refund as you bought a hard copy disc from the retailer as it is defective. At this time you can only get TTK as part of a pack that includes everything off your console store..
