So here recently My access to crucible and gambit have been restricted. I can’t play them due to network issues. It’s happened once for 2 weeks now it’s 2 months. I can’t play iron banner and if something crucible related drops next season I can’t play that either. Why remove my access to everything? Why not just restrict access to just the competitive playlist? Literally kills 2/3 of the game for me. I’m left with just strikes and raids. I’ve purchased your game on 2 of 3 platforms as well as the DLC and have been playing since the original Destiny. I just don’t think it’s fair to punish people with poor internet connection when they literally cant get anything else. This has not been an issue until recently so idk what the problem is. Please help.

6 RepliesYour account has been restricted from matchmaking against other players for 2 months, beginning Feb. 12th, due to extremely poor connection stability that was negatively impacting other players' experience. Specifically, we have repeatedly detected extremely high packet loss over several days averaging over 9% We initially sent you an in-game warning about your connection's extreme instability in December which provided suggestions for how to fix the issue. You also received a 2 week restriction in January, along with another in-game message explaining why you were restricted. I have confirmed that you acknowledged these messages by dismissing the message window. Your restriction has been reviewed and will be upheld. This restriction is not eligible for appeal. To learn how to improve your connection stability by reducing latency and packet loss, please carefully read this page in our Network Troubleshooting Guide: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13603

You'd like your restriction lifted, and everyone you play against would like to not encounter someone stuttering and teleporting all over the place while not taking any damage from the few hits that they can land on your laggy face.

I’m glad Bungie is finally cracking down on you guys.

2 RepliesIf you know you have poor internet, why are you continuously going into pvp & ruining it for other players? You’ve already known that your internet isn’t sufficient, so you must face the consequences. If you don’t fix your network deficiencies, then your next restriction will be permanent removal from crucible/gambit.

Edited by RAIST5150: 2/18/2020 5:43:08 PMThe game's requirements specifically stated you need a broadband connection... not high speed, but broadband. The US Broadband standard was raised to 25mbps down, 4mbps up in 2015, but recently revised down to 24 by 3. High-speed is basically anything faster than dialup that doesn't meet the broadband standard. Granted, this game technically only requires a sustained rate of about 1mbps both directions, so countries with lower standards like 10/1 and such may still work... provided latency is good. That is the other side of the coin... latency/loss. This game uses UDP and not TCP, so there is no recovery for lost or out of order packets... if something is interfering with consistent, timely delivery of packets there WILL be problems. End to end latency needs to be consistently low, with virtually no packet loss (have seen issues with it as low as 2%).

Bungie has warned not to play with a bad connection because you are negatively affecting other players. It doesn’t matter if you can’t get anything better. You are ruining the game for other people. Playing PvP is not a right, it is a privilege if you meet the recommended requirements, which you clearly don’t. Second, if you want to appeal, then file an appeal with the appeal form. It’s in the ban policy. Just search for it in the Help articles.

Edited by karatekid2501: 2/17/2020 6:24:16 PMFood for thought, people with poor internet shouldn’t play games that require good internet.

If restrictions were just removed because people ask for it then there would be no reason to even issue restrictions. You clearly are not taking it seriously and trying to correct the issues. You should expect the permanent restriction from PVP activities to shortly follow once this one ends.
